I would have no use for that knife. For the craftsmanship, rarity and price, it is too precious to put to use. I'd just have it on display, but I'm not a collector. Also, usually lots of moving parts mean higher degradation and less durability.

If I had to guess, ai would say that the glue is sodium bicarbonate and cyanoacrylate ...super glue and baking soda. We use it a lot in model making and sculpture.

Damasteel is actually not folded but the steel powder is already being layered before the sintering, this procedure allows more Chromium in the steel than "regular" damast. --- Damasteel wird nicht gefaltet, denn die Lagen entstehen durch Einsprühen der beiden unterschiedlichen Stahlpulver bereits vor dem Sintern, was neben anderen Vorteilen u.a. einen höheren Chrom- Anteil im Stahl erlaubt.
