It’s such an honour and a pleasure to work with you on this amazing project Jörg!
I am amazed at how far we have already come with this design together in such a short period of time!
Interesting to add to your explanation about the curve being a natural translation of the movements of the arms during deployment of the knives… The curve also give the user knowledge as to what end the edges of the knives are going to end up during deployment. By design.. it is away from themselves when the pull the blades apart with arms in front (given they are holding the curve shape such that it will follow the natural curve of the arm movement).
Viewers of the channel: I’d be honoured if you check the video description.

I saw one of these and thought, what about making a version that is a dual Long Tang, so not only is the handle quite long, but it allows more space for a longer blade. I guess the problem then would be the material use for strength of both the handle, the blade, the mechanism to stop the blade, and then you may have to start considering the weight of the blade itself and how that would be affected by the longer length.

I would prefer straight blade, with no hilt. Just a square chunk of metal that can easily be concealed.

You should really make a pair of full length swords like this
@thodoss2059 Says:
how stable will the blades be?
@YourComputerExpert Says:
This is really cool, would actually buy it
@teezettsb Says:
That is gorgeous - I always wanted to have a tanto knife, but the problem is, that it is not legal to carry.
As this design is a spring knife it is legal, just like the pocketchete, but even cooler.
Also cool is that it is so small that it will be easy to carry with you.
So I hope it will get a real product soon - what about creating a kickstarter project for it?
There is another wish I have: As the production will not be very cheap anyway, I would appreciate if you use a good steel like Elmax or at least VG-10.
@JoseSanchez-qf3jb Says:
Playful name idea for this, "The Ahsoka". 😉
@saltykaiser Says:
That is an awesome design! I really hope this can become a purchasable product!
@benjaminboyle7329 Says:
I think it would be even better with a couple of changes.
1. go back to straight blades but keep the fuller for the wider blades
2. ditch the hand guard so that when closed it looks like a solid baton
3. add an external safety to keep them fully locked together.
Now its a less than lethal self defense baton that can quickly turn into a pair of combat knives.
@raminatox Says:
Is it going to be disassemblable? The mechanism seems like it could fail in the presence of gunk or dust...
@TheOriginalJAX Says:
Someone has never heard of a Tanto then........ Ok dude.
@joshhalstead9613 Says:
I think its an amazing design and id love one
@dr.sustain6754 Says:

@smsdelux Says:
Why Not make a huge Double Samurai sward like this?
@seancopley499 Says:
would these not be regulated as a switch blade? hmmmmm
@siavery3903 Says:
So badass!!
@AdrianCuyubambaDiaz Says:
I really like but it doesn't look like the blades would be very sturdy. Thet have very little contact with the handle.
