A guru is for all times to come and once the guru takes charge he ensures his followers attain freedom even when the guru is not in his physical body

Ananda was an arhant shortly after buddhas dead, and there was many of Arhants during this time. You can read in the Tipitaka witch is compiled only by arhants (fully enlighted beeings). You can read the story from Ananda there. So the title of the video is not correct. Just purify your mind guys, this is the only way to be free from suffering.
