I use the quantum knot. Best knot
@lilpickleio Says:
You guys tie shoelaces? I buy my shoes one size big, never untie the laces and force my feet into it every time. Huh, that explains why my shoes look miserable.
@pradbourne2446 Says:
There will be no shoelace tying in the future and it will be done by AI - Sam ALtman
@jasoncdebussy Says:
There is no wrong way to tie your shoelaces - if you still use shoelaces!
@ErikBuchholz-s7j Says:
And to untie a square knot vs. a bow?
@rymal93 Says:

I use the elastic lace from Temu.
@RICKIPED1A Says:
I’m ambidextrous, this makes sense why one of my shoe laces always gets untied first when playing soccer. It’s always the left one.
@2Good2BTrue-r1q Says:
That's a granny knot. I use elastic thought. NEver have to tie a shoelace at all

Nike
@rdmst911 Says:
OK fools none of this even comes close to touching the simplicity of the factory tie
@rdmst911 Says:
i tie them right
@alexthequestions Says:
So if you start left over right and under, then make a loop in left and go around it clockwise with right you will have a good knot that lays flat
@isapetrov3571 Says:
Diz knots
@LetsbEnemies Says:
How hard to untie comparison
@ShanaVor-11-11 Says:
I started doing square knots without knowing what they were because they lay straighter.
@appaloosa42 Says:
And then there’s the unduplicitable weird technique used by my husband.
@blademontane Says:
I don't do either, I do the method that allows me to tie my shoelaces in about 3 seconds. Don't know what the technique is called though.
@ysmetannikov Says:
That's how knots are tied in surgery as well. When I was a medical student the other way was called "pig's knot" 😂
@winteru4159 Says:
I aint that deep
@jaysparrow6631 Says:
I tie my laces in a bow and I find it virtually impossible to do it the way shown in this short!
@PowGetRekt Says:
Uh I don't tie my shoes that way tho lol.
@alien-vx2bj Says:
I tie them differently,i don't know the technique you are using.
@gePanzerTe Says:
Does using neither counts ? 🛠
@DougBlair54 Says:
Tie it backwards and it will never untie!!!
@orion55 Says:
great concept but poor explanation. its not about clockwise and counter clockwise, its about going opposite direction to the initial sinch (if right over left first, then left over right next and vice versa).
@PierceyeG Says:
Going to depend on the type of laces as well. This knot works better for the flat, smooth laces found on sneakers. Round and square laces tend to be better served by something like the Berlutti knot.
@frederickmooney2581 Says:
Easier way to describe that would be right over left then left over right. At least that’s how I was taught how to tie a square knot in the navy.
@Brewbug Says:
It's just engagebait. They know what they're doing.
@ScottA2345 Says:
I thought this guy was Pete Buttigieg 😂
@celestek.2395 Says:
I just tie them. And they stay tied. I didn’t realize there was more to it than that 🤷🏻‍♀️
@blakepatterson9022 Says:
Annoying
@rosiemoon345 Says:
Darn, I’m wearing slip on boots!
@RobIn-sc1zh Says:
Kudos for honesty 😊
@scionmandal22 Says:
So this is why sometimes my laces are tighter 😮
@SelfMadeHundredaire Says:
Orrrrrr you could just wear loafers and call it a day. 🤨
@khastakachori123 Says:
I dont wear shoes unless its extremely necessary😂 last time i wore them was 2 years ago
@robinmoon3980 Says:
Put the 'loop' through twice. You'll never have an undone shoelace again.
@JmacGolf Says:
Either way, tying it around your leg is wrong.
@MikeMike-ew4bw Says:
@veritasium❤ I know a 3rd one. It’s a traditional Romanian method passed down from our ancestors, and it’s definitely the best one there is. Contact me and I can show you in a video.💻
@TheBeefSlayer Says:
You wanna have a freak out moment… Watch anyone else tie their shoes…. It never looks like how you do it. Freaks me out every time. 😂You’ll be loke “wait.. what??? “
@ecxblackmamba Says:
Sellout
@skipads5141 Says:
I don't know about clockwise, but keep the same strand on top to get a square knot. E.g., Right strand which then becomes left after the first step.
@bbbeezy Says:
Maybe don’t use black shoelaces? The leg rope wasn’t helpful either because it’s not a shoelace. Who is the creative behind this video? They should be fired 😅
@ltsmash254 Says:
Wtf who has shoe laces i use space aged zipper straps ( velcro )
@Bga1412 Says:
I dont use either, there is a third method
@mwgee1 Says:
I was taught wrong as a child and my shoes became undone easily. At age 40 I started to learn to sail, and on day one the instructor made everybody tie correctly and explained this. I never went back, it is so much better! There is a bitter pill in looking back: How many million times have I retied shoes in my first 40 years because of this?
@chronocommander007 Says:
That is known as the Palstek (low German for post knot)/ or bowline knot: Around the tree, back down the hole, tighten. That knot is used to tie a loop to the end of one rope. It doesn't easily come loose on its own, but it can be easily loosened. The only difference is that for tying shoes, you use two ends, for the Palstek you use just one end, but the knot looks identical.
