Just like gravity is a straight line in 4D spacetime, the classical path of a particle is just the straightest line of arrows in the quantum phase space.

18:13 I am not convinced by that argument. He starts out by saying "we just consider light, so there is no problem with speed" (I'm paraphrasing), but then he says "we have to consider different speeds because the paths do not have the same length". But so what? If we only consider the same speed, and the paths do not have the same length, but the wavelengths are the same, then the amplitudes at the screen will be different, and the interference will be constructive or destructive or something in-between depending on where the paths cross, which is what we actually observe in the experiment. Please explain.
@ThomasLahn Says:
Mindblowing (or mind-opening?), even though I have studied Physics (recently) and heard much of this before (also from Science Asylum, but his similar explanation, where the arrows suddenly come from, I did not really understand). Highly motivated to get a solid understanding of Lagrangian mechanics and the path integral formulation now. Thank you very much 🖖🤓

What if Hawking radiation is nothing but those possible paths taken without any interference to cancel out those likelihoods? The smaller the blackhole, the more potential interference patterns cross to cancel the possible paths out.

I can’t understand most of the video’s content. But the concluding statement at 24:40 was truly impressive. It gave me that kind of realization like, ‘Ah, so that’s how it is!’ I had misunderstood things all this time, thinking that everything always chooses the optimal solution. But apparently that’s not the case. It’s just that they coincide in large numbers" 🤗
