Nice, knowing about this locking mechanism allowed me to fix the zipper on my boots, the pull tab had broke off and I could not unzip it no matter what I tried !
Thank you !

Insane that we have the perfect zipper now because a woman died. If his wife never died we would have never had this zipper and society would have been much different.

Upham’s character, just like every other character in Saving Private Ryan, showed us the best, and the worst, that is each and every one of us. One of (if not) the best war films. Another classic: Born on the Fourth of July (the Ron Kovic biography). 👍 (I was a peacetime sergeant 82nd Airborne innthe late 1980s (infantry paratrooper and clerk-typist. Brother was a Ranger. Uncle was a retired Vietnam medic helicopter crew chief, who later retired from the SF during peacetime). 🫡

once you got physically hurt by a man you don't feel empathy towards most men anymore. he lost his wife? how sad. imagine how much she lost when she gave away her freedom and humanity. imagine how much she lost she wasn't able to follow her dream anymore because she was forced to take care of a living creature a weird guy implanted into her flesh. she had to clean up after him, take care of his feelings while he never cared about hers because it feels good when somebody takes care of you and why dh would you want to loose that.
she probably gone for good.. I don't believe she wanted to stay on earth after loosing every aspect of her freedom. cleaning, taking care of the baby but no happieness no hobbies no fun. what could this women do for her happyness in the 19th century? watch sports? NOPE women weren't allowed at those places... do sports? NOPE women werent allowed to do this. go to school to learn about the world just to get SOME distraction from her struggles? NOPE. women? In schools? no teacher can teach them how to take care of baby so women going to school doesn't make sense. there was NOTHING that could make her happy. nothing. she probably wanted to leave earth... Im 100% sure that most women in the 19th century were depressed and they weren't even aware of the fact.
men should be glad that we fight for equality instead of revenge!!!

This Video @ 19:57 just saved me a lot of money. i grabbed players and did just that and my Zipper Bam worked. to think i was going to take the exact Jacket for the second time for replacement of Zipper crazy, i even think the first time maybe the tailor did not even replace the zipper since it was perfectly matching who knows what we don't know.

A ton of products in the outdoors world, backpacking, camping gear/clothing i'd say the majority of them use YKK zippers
@thehumancode-science Says:
The fact that the zipper hasn't fundamentally changed since Gideon Sundback invented it in 1913 — 113 years of the same mechanism. YKK makes half the world's zippers with the same machines they've used for decades. Sometimes the best engineering is the simplest.

So, I went and looked. None of my zippers were YKK (mine had random number/letter combinations printed on them) but all of them had the locking mechanism.

@thatwolfboy2898 Says:
I've had this video in my watch later for a couple of months and today my pants zipper broke. I figured that was the sign for me to watch this. Very cool and informative! Mine that broke is actually not a YKK zipper (it's tex which also appears to be a legit brand), but I know I have plenty of YKKs. Mine is actually like that original zipper where it's got a bunch of metal pieces and they've got a bump on top and an indent on the bottom. The plastic coil ones are really interesting too though. After much fiddling I managed to get the zipper to latch on. I don't know how but eventually I got it. Great video, thank you! I'll now try to remember to zip my pants up before putting them in the laundry.
