CRS-26 Mission

CRS-26 Mission

????

SpaceX is targeting Saturday, November 26 for Falcon 9's launch of Dragon's 26th Commercial Resupply Services (CRS-26) mission to the International Space Station from Launch Complex 39A (LC-39A) at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The instantaneous launch window is at 2:20 p.m. ET (19:20 UTC), and a backup launch opportunity is available on Sunday, November 27 at 1:58 p.m. ET (18:58 UTC). Following stage separation, Falcon 9's first stage will land on the Just Read the Instructions droneship in the Atlantic Ocean. This is the first flight of the Dragon spacecraft supporting this mission. Dragon will autonomously dock with the space station on Sunday, November 27 at approximately 7:30 a.m. ET (12:30 UTC). A live webcast of this mission will begin about 25 minutes prior to liftoff.

The actual engineers/rocket scientists etc of SpaceX and their presentations really shine in contrast to the "talking head" media mavens that NASA trots out for these shared casts. I recall in the before-time NASA used to have space scientists, engineers and astronauts do these sorts of things. SpaceX will have to carry us into the future in spite of NASA hokum it seems. But hey thirty billion dollars for a disposable rocket sure does buy some votes!

Did I miss something, or did Stage 1 enter boost back much earlier and at a much lower speed than normal? 3000kph vs 7000kph. Has that got something to do with this new first-born F9, or was it just a different type of launch profile? F9 to date in totale has delivered to the ISS just over the amount of tonnage that one Starship will fly - 120 ton vs 100 ton - approx. 3 fully-laden semi truckloads.

It's interesting. I went back and watched a few of the previous launches. The Water - Sound - Shockwave suppression system usually starts spraying at about T-7 seconds or so. In today's launch, it started after launch at about T+3. Too much air in the lines? or has some new procedure entered into the countdown? The rest of the launch, from green flash/liftoff to the landing of the 1st stage was again, awesome 🙂

37:45 Great view, What are those fast (little) objects floating around? dust, or satellites, UAP's?
