I believe “ignorance is bliss” applies best to those years you’re growing and learning. I feel like that’s why we become more scared as we get older and branch out of the groups, communities, etc we’ve grown up “sheltered” in. We sadly learn the truths slowly about evils possible around us and whether we live in fear or not I believe that’s our subconscious keeping us safe while letting us enjoy life not in fear ❤
Also you’re so right about the regret of not doing things because of fear of failure or judgments. I’m a healing undiagnosed 32 year old and I already have so many of those moments and life got much easier when I said “no more!”. Focusing on what I’m grateful for when I’m slipping into a dark place has also helped so much ❤

I'd rather be alive and dirt poor now than alive 200 years ago but really rich.
I'd rather not be alive now in Burundi for example. Or Sudan. Or any other war torn countries.
Thise places are hell on earth and even people living there say they'd rather be not born than alive now.
