The correct and provable version of the removal of the children was to take them out of harm's way. The Ukrainian right wing lead government did nothing to protect the Russian children in that area to secure their safety. So, what Russians did by removing those children out of the war zone should not be seen as kidnapping. That version is the politically motivated version, the International Court made a bad politically motivated decision. I would advise South Africa to resign its membership and ignore the arrest order. That law is unenforceable.

The Putin arrest order is an overreach and should be rejected for that reason.

Africa must not arrest Putin for alleged war crime as Africa is not double-standard. Africa's reply to ICC is that unless ICC issue a warrant of arrest and arrest the ex-Presidents of USA for war crimes in Iraq and Afghanistan within 30 days(to show that it is not double-standard too) failing which, then the Rome Statutes governing the war crimes are deemed non-existent and unenforceable. Although Africa is bounded by the Rome Statute, however the Rome Statute established four core international crimes: genocide, crimes against humanity, war crimes, and the crime of aggression. Those crimes "shall not be subject to any statute of limitations".
In this regard, the war atrocities committed in Iraq and Afghanistan, including the brutal murder of Libya leader and his family by US under the guise of Nato so-called Peacekeeping forces falls under this Rome Satute. But ICC did not arrest the murderers and intents not to arrest them, or convict them. In this regard, ICC also cannot compel SA to arrest Putin on the very same grounds it did not do so for the aforesaid crimes by US, as mentioned. This is time for SA to show its strength to stand against the western hegemony and prove to the world that ICC is not a credible organization. In fact SA should leave ICC and build up BRICS for a better world.
