The Democrats in the US - who are often called "left" because they are less right wing than the Republicans, are big fans of banks and war and they use LGBTQ+ to make it seem like they are civilised and progressive. My fear is US Democrats create a backlash against LGBTQ+ by misrepresenting them and using them as props for their official stories, the way Israel is likely to create a backlash against Jews by misrepresenting them and using them as props for THEIR official stories.
