@potcha Says:
@ 9:16 me and that pipe were both thinking the same thing when we saw the one working the camera 😏
@AeronDocs Says:
Yo, this is actually insane. We out here thinkin we're the bosses of the planet but then you see a facility like this and relize how fragile everything really is. One big storm and the whole ground just turns into suop. It's wild that we gotta engineer our way out of a mess we basically made ourselves with the climate stuff. Nature don't care about your plans, man. If we don't start respectin' the land, the land is gonna take it back. Deadass.
@HyungnamGu Says:
While it is a common observation that wet soil is mud and therefore slippery, there are several scenarios where water does not make soil slipperier, or actually makes it less slippery:
Hydrophobic Soil: When soil becomes extremely dry, particularly in hot weather or with potting mixes, it can become hydrophobic. In this state, the soil particles are coated with waxy organic compounds that repel water, causing water to pool on top or run off rather than creating a slippery, mixed layer.
Rapid Absorption/Dry Surface: If the soil is very dry and sandy, it can absorb water instantly, leaving the surface dry and porous, maintaining its traction rather than turning into slick mud.
Surface Tension & Cohesion: When only a few drops of water are present (e.g., damp dust), the cohesion of the water molecules can actually increase friction, acting more as an adhesive that makes the surface stickier, rather than a lubricant that makes it slick.
When Water DOES Make Soil Slippery:
Clay Soils: Soils high in clay hold water on the surface and become very slick because the clay particles are tiny, smooth, and can easily slide past each other when wet.
Saturated Soil (Mud): When water fully saturates the soil and fills all the air pockets, it acts as a lubricant, reducing friction.

@liam-s5z3r Says:
6:22 how tf were there no casualties? I mean I'm glad there were none, but that's crazy that there were none.
@SirFloofy001 Says:
10:48 so its a lubricant. And before anyone goes "no he just said its an anti lubricant" ive been having this argument for years now. A lubricant like oil works by getting between things you want to lubricate and keeping those thing separated, JUST LIKE WATER DOES! Granted its not a very good lubricant, but i bet if you rained 300 mm or WD40 on a hillside the same thing will happen!
@P5YCHO1192 Says:
They just needed to visit Ireland on any day ending in 'Y' for rain.
@jd7ub Says:
The wettest place on earth is mawsynram with 26.4 meters or 1042 inches of rain in a year in 1985
@andreiprimu Says:
"The Rainiest Place On Earth", well you haven't been to UK.
@Jutsuss Says:
The time before Vertical Video Syndrome. All those cellphone recorded videos would be vertically recorded nowadays lmao.
@cmaxz817 Says:
Prabowo, the President of Indonesia, need to learn a thing or two from this video. Implying that palm tree can do what woody trees do to prevent landslides is beyond stupid.
@johndone5906 Says:
Trees on a slope give a historical record of landslide if a tree is 30 years old and is growing straight the land has never slipped in that time. If the tree has bends as it than the slope has changed over time forcing the tree to adjust back to straight.
@ishaanqgarg Says:
Just for your reference Meghalaya India is the wettest place on earth avrage manual rainfall of 12cm
@GAELDYLANSHAUTIOTUYCO Says:
The Philippines really needs this to test flooding to buildings and houses

remember it can't become a waterfall in air. But it can be a comet! Now thats some crazy localized rain!
@heartsingssacredsongsuntol6782 Says:
.28 inches does not equal .2 inches per minute, but its not close, nice try but not really. So sorry
@ReachingForTheGun Says:
are you implying here (1.01 timestamp) that 1 meter is around of 3.2 ft? I dont agree on it.
@Asterion-t5r Says:
i made yakashima island the wettest place on earth

Ever heard of meghalaya State of India? Might wanna reconsider about the wettest place on earth after knowing about meghalaya
@andysails Says:
Wait a minute. At 15:00 you said “water does not make soil slipperier” but five seconds later, you say that water “decreases the friction between the grains”
Isn’t that the same thing?
@AngelaEvangelista-g7v Says:
Do a video about ghost flood control projects in the Philippines
@DeanLucinsky Says:
