South Africa is very tribalistic. There're 2 major tribal divisions:Ngunis & Sothos.The Nguni group speaks with a clique sound&the sothos no clique.
The 2 groups don't get along with each other.The Sothos are generally easy going whilst the Ngunis are rough & warlike.Most of the xenophobic violence meted against black foreigners are by the Ngunis.Amongs the Ngunis are the Zulus,Xhosa,Ndebeles,Swatis & sothos are Batswana,Basotho and Bapedi. The sothos are in the Inland of South Africa & the Ngunis in the coast.These things are hidden in south africa so to the outside world it looks cozy here!Even criticisms of various South African presidents are on tribal lines as opposed to facts,,,so those who'll criticize Ramaphosa are mainly the Ngunis whilst those who used to criticize Zuma were mainly the sothos!!

Sounds like his intense anger/embarrassment toward his co-worker got the best of him when he lost his job. His reaction to the situation could have been handled better by seeing the bigger picture and possibly taken the legal route. He lost out. Being in jail is not satisfying.

Second to comment here: Here in my country you can be killed for nothing, they don't mind to kill 70 years old woman and the court system is not really good. I remember a horrific scene in 2008 where a brother from Mozambique ( Ernesto) was killed by putting a petrol on his body and set alight , just because he was a so- called foreigner ( Xenophobic) . No one was arrested till today. President Thabo Mbeki said " People has lost Ubuntu"
