It's 3 sessions of the wedding but first session kukyala(visitation) it's at this stage that dowry is determined then introduction(kwanjula) and finally the formal wedding.
Religion is highly regarded in Uganda
Gifts to the girls family is a sign that you can take care of their daughter and also an appreciation
Marriage here is highly considered
The function you attended is in the central part of Uganda and all different parts have different practices eg in the West they ask for cows and in return on the day of introduction you are given gifts for start up(from bedroom to sitting room and kitchen) and also we rarely dance our functions.
I have to commend the groom for actually keeping the promises to the wife.
