Instead of a wench what if you used an electric solenoid to draw the bow? You could have a 2 stage trigger that draws then fires.

seems like you had a lot of problems with string, so try dyneema ropes they are so strong and have almost no creep, the only problem is that it is very slipery, but you have knots made specifically for dyneema
