Globalstar FM15 Mission

Globalstar FM15 Mission

????

SpaceX is targeting Sunday, June 19 for launch of Globalstar FM15 to low-Earth orbit from Space Launch Complex 40 (SLC-40) at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida. The instantaneous launch window opens at 12:27 a.m. ET, 4:27 UTC. A backup launch opportunity is available on Monday, June 20 at 12:05 a.m. ET, 4:05 UTC. The Falcon 9 first stage booster supporting this mission previously supported the launch of Crew-1, Crew-2, SXM-8, CRS-23, IXPE, one Starlink mission, Transporter-4, and Transporter-5. After stage separation, the first stage will land on the Just Read the Instructions droneship, which will be stationed in the Atlantic Ocean. A live webcast of this mission will begin about 10 minutes prior to liftoff.

Hey Elon, I was in the US Army and would love to be of the first people to put foot on Mars. I was diagnosed with a pituitary tumor that was unsuccessfully removed so I do not know how much longer I will be of use to Mankind. I scored so high on the military entrance test and finished in half the allotted time, so they thought I was cheating and made me take it again under close observation. I scored higher the second time and finished even faster. I would only ask two things in return for my service. 1.) Let me get one of your electric cars to use until I leave. (I sold my vehicles so that I don't run anyone over if I pass out from the tumor.) 2.) Build a library and name it after me when I die. EyE SEE YOU ⚡👁⚡

To SpaceX: I've just watched the CAPSTONE launch video a few minutes ago and I have to tell you... Your footages are really the BEST. I felt the need to tell you this. I wish you a wonderful launch and expect a wonderful footage too in a few hours (10:00 PM - Portugal). C U later.

This should have been safe first stage landing #126... closing in on the shuttle record of safe recoveries for reuse of 133 (remember shuttle only flew 135 times in its 30 year operational history, and of those only had 133 successes-- one pair of SRB's crashed and sank after the parachutes failed to deploy on STS-4 IIRC, though the shuttle Columbia successfully flew the mission and returned safely, and during the Challenger disastrous launch in January of 1986 the boosters were blown up by range safety shortly after the orbiter broke up when the External Tank broke up. On Columbia's final flight, the boosters were safely recovered intact after the launch even though the shuttle orbiter itself broke up during reentry due to the fatal damage to its wing leading edge. So there were 135 flights but only 133 successfully recovered, for the boosters and the orbiters). Personally can't wait to see Falcon 9 bust the shuttle reuse record! OL J R :)

I found this video cause I was drinking with friends Saturday night/Sunday morning in the backyard and was staring at the stars and seen this thing in the sky appear before me. I was like wth is that and then it shot the mist and really put on a show. I live in south eastern Nebraska. So at the end of the video more is what I saw in real time in person. Amazing I could go online and not only find out what it was but have the algorithm find the video 2 days later. Crazy! Neat show if you happen to catch it in person!

I never seen the second stage go that high, 533 km. That is in the tops of the Thermosphere, close to the Exosphere. I guess it is getting crowded down below.

It never gets old. It never gets amazing that SpaceX makes it look routine to land a booster from space onto a ship , at sea, at night. Those of you who are too young to remember , but this was pure science fiction not that long ago.
