ispace M1 Mission

????

SpaceX is targeting Sunday, December 11 for a Falcon 9 launch of ispace's HAKUTO-R Mission 1 – the first privately-led Japanese mission to land on the lunar surface – from Space Launch Complex 40 (SLC-40) at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida. Also onboard this mission is NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory's Lunar Flashlight. The instantaneous launch window is at 2:38 a.m. ET (07:38 UTC), and a backup opportunity is available on Monday, December 12 at 2:31 a.m. ET (07:31 UTC). The first stage booster supporting this mission previously launched SES-22 and three Starlink missions. Following stage separation, the first stage will land on Landing Zone 2 (LZ-2) at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. A live webcast of this mission will begin about 15 minutes prior to liftoff.

To SpaceX: the reliability of your rocket once more proven! 20 years from now this will be just one simple detail. Your achievements never stop! Don't forget, I volunteer to go on a crewed (me) mission to orbit the Moon for a few days, representing all the dreamers of this world! In a technical way we would be testing the ability of the Dragon or Dragon XL to handle all the cosmic radiation in a true space environment. What do you say? No test dummies, no Artemis waste of money,... a Real Human Mission!!! Consider this, you dreamers.

@elonmusk I have a question? I heard you are going to try and put like a refueling station in space for the Artemis Journey to the Moon or is it to Mars?

My wife and I and my buddy was outside and I thought I saw a UFO. Lol had no clue this was happening nearby and seen red dot and an explosion and was like OMG WHAT IS THAT and watched in aw. Swore I seen an alien ship shoot up into space. Nope. Just mankind being awesome. I'll take it.

Wow nice launch, well done SpaceX. Best of luck to ispace and Hakuto-R on their moon mission.

Really need to not have that gal talking over the top of almost the entire launch and recovery of the booster, and repeating everything that mission control says as if we didn’t just hear it in plain English. Geeze…

@I_dont_want_an_at Says:
Two conditions before we get to celebrate that we are futuristic: First, that at least one person has been to one other planet. Second, that humans no longer clean houses at all. Obviously the house cleaning is the greater challenge
@I_dont_want_an_at Says:
Nominal Nominal Nominal Nominal. You wackos are the only ones who think you can use that word because you're doing special spacey stuff. Everyone else gets weird looks if they say Nominal
@I_dont_want_an_at Says:
normal, not nominal. Give up your special spacey words
@I_dont_want_an_at Says:
How dare you fly over Australia without our permission! I don't care if you're more than 2000km above our land, you don't get to buzz around above us without our say so. You might think that out jurisdiction ends after 100km or something, but that's all in your head boyo!
@petersbayley Says:
Always strange the orbital velocity is given in Imperial units (17,500 mph) while practically everything else is in SI (I note fuel load is described as "a million pounds")

That's amazing travel time to the Moon is down to 50 minutes now. We must have been pretty close to start with and going in opposite directions to meet head-on like that. Pretty rapid lunar orbiter and lunar lander flashlight deploy within 50 to 60 minutes. Getting humans to the moon will be much easier if we stick with these amazing window openings
