SpaceX is targeting Sunday, January 8 for a Falcon 9 launch of the OneWeb Launch 16 mission to low-Earth orbit from Space Launch Complex 40 (SLC-40) at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida. Liftoff is targeted for 11:55 p.m. ET (04:55 UTC on January 9), and a backup opportunity is available on Monday, January 9 at 11:50 p.m. ET (04:50 UTC on January 10). The first stage booster supporting this mission previously launched CRS-26 Following stage separation, the first stage will land on Landing Zone 1 (LZ-1) at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. A live webcast of this mission will begin about 15 minutes prior to liftoff.

I watched this launch from the deck of a ship in the Caribbean. A fantastic show, as always.

I was down in Florida for an aviation trip getting hours and I got the chance to watch it from one of our school planes and it was so beautiful. 1st time watching a rocket in person and it was beautiful. Looked like the sun honestly

This milestone went by unnoticed. Upon landing the booster, propulsive Falcon 9 landings achieved reliability parity with Space Shuttle landings. The longest streak of successful space shuttle landings was 87, and this was the 87th consecutive successful Falcon 9 booster landing. This is important because the SpaceX Starship system is designed to land propulsively with crews on board.

You liar scum… Horizon is the base word for the word horizontal. The definition for the word horizontal is - adjective 1. at right angles to the vertical; parallel to level ground. 2. flat or level The very word horizon is a convincing witness that the surface of the Earth is not spherical. In this actual optical photograph taken at an altitude of 65,000 feet above the surface of the Earth, we see that the horizon has visually risen to viewing level. If the surface of the Earth was in reality curving downward, could we expect the horizon to raise to viewing level as viewing altitude increases? Shouldn't the horizon be dropping as viewing altitude increases, if in reality the surface of the Earth was curving downward? If the surface of the Earth was in reality curving downward, we should logically expect the horizon to follow suit and drop accordingly as viewing altitude increases. This does not happen. This is proof positive that the surface of the Earth is not spherical. The Earth is not a flying spinning ball. It is an expansive plane that is 70% covered by water that maintains a surface level and the sea is sea level. Although the land has variations in its topical geography, vast expanses of great plains exist that do not curve downward and are not consistent with the spherical surface narrative of the Earth that we are indoctrinated with since childhood.

To SpaceX: You should keep on making every launch a SHOW. You should always try to innovate in something. Example: Flying a Gulftream at 50k feet, filming the launch until the mighty Falcon 9 passes close (10m 😊 ) at Mack 2.0 !!! (with sound, of course) Too crazy? Crazy is a must in the rocket business! Have fun!

This launch had some of the best camera shots I've ever seen in a launch. It's also very interesting to see how OneWeb satellites are deployed compared to Starlink. It kinda reminds me of the Iridium NEXT launches a few years ago.

Clear night over Florida. Saw the launch all the way from Miami, including the separation of the first stage. Second stage flew right overhead, south, a starry background, on its polar orbit journey. From the moment it launched, until it passed overhead, 5 minutes. Fast!!!

She throttles down just before a minute, she goes supersonic just on one minute and 8km, she zooms past the cruising altitude of a jet, Max Q 15 secs later at 12km, throttle up and "I feel fine".
@BradiKal61 Says:
That payload launch system is no joke. It has to be able to securely hold all those satellites which have to weigh up to hundreds of pounds each at 90 degrees to the direction of 5g's worth of launch forces and vibration, and undergo some drastic temperature swings and still be able to let the satellites float off without imparting any unwanted spin. Thats some impressive engineering!
@BradiKal61 Says:
In my lifetime we have gone from America putting its first astronaut in space to routine flights where dozens of satellites are launched from a single craft that then lands itself to get ready for the next mission. Amazing!
