Starlink Mission

????

SpaceX is targeting Thursday, August 17 at 12:01 a.m. PT (7:01 UTC) for a Falcon 9 launch of 21 Starlink satellites to low-Earth orbit from Space Launch Complex 4E (SLC-4E) at Vandenberg Space Force Base in California. If needed, four additional opportunities are available starting at 12:51 a.m. PT (7:51 UTC) until 3:23 a.m. PT (10:23 UTC). Two backup opportunities are also currently available on Friday, August 18 at 12:30 a.m. (7:30 UTC) and 1:20 a.m. PT (8:20 UTC). This is the 15th flight for the first stage booster supporting this mission, which previously launched Crew-1, Crew-2, SXM-8, CRS-23, IXPE, Transporter-4, Transporter-5, Globalstar FM15, ISI EROS C-3, and five Starlink missions. Following stage separation, the first stage will land on the Of Course I Still Love You droneship, which will be stationed in the Pacific Ocean. A live webcast of this mission will begin about five minutes prior to liftoff.

Very interesting to hear a launch without commentary for something different. Muost of us who watch these SpaceX launches know what is happening during the countdown anyway. It was quite nice to just sit back and just watch everything happen for a change.
@golebdo Says:
Wow, they're getting so routine with their launches they don't even bother with the commentary
@korzenicus Says:
Never ceases to amaze...I think its even better without the commentary, I mean dude repeating what some dude just said..Id rather just watch and listen to the rocket.

I think this is the first time I've seen a launch that didn't have someone narrating in the background.

Thx Elon, for lets us see 😊the future

"SpaceX is Normal." 📡 Still pretty incredible how they can get one on the deck at the precise moment the other shuts down and 'lands' at orbit.
@shaneandshelly Says:
Ok I have a question? When Main Engine Cut off happens, the rocket is still climbing. Its like you just shoved a shopping cart across the parking lot, Thrust, then no thrust, but still moving up.....final height.....still going up because of the thrust...your car doesn't stop moving fwd because you went into coast mode. So how does the 2nd stage move away from the 1st stage while it is also still climbing and 2nd hasn't fired rockets to move away?

Thank you for short, concise announcements without all the background chatter. !

Awesome
@jonesyaye8175 Says:
Yay! No commentary! Video is much better like this with only the control room shout outs.
@LukasTaman Says:
We're at a point in time where commentators/announcers can afford to be bored cz these takeoffs and landings have become routine! Really amazing stuff here!
@zaz4667 Says:
SWEET! I miss a communications person narrating what's happening!

They cut on the commentary already

Considering the history of this Stage 1, I hope it will be preserved for future generations to see.
@NOM-X Says:
Also, the landing never gets old especially with autonomous control.
@defan2105 Says:
I didn't think I would miss having someone explain everything that is about to happen before a launch but without that, it all seems like Artificial intelligence made this up. Where is our SpaceX guide today??
@johnschneider3082 Says:
I’ve got to say, This Never Gets Old! And what makes it even better is that it’s being done at the pace that just a few years ago many people thought it couldn’t be done.
@NOM-X Says:
I cant get over how you can hear the gases spool up in the bells before, and during lift-off. Only if we can get the same audio with star ship (BN). It would be one of the many pleasures for us rocket nerds. Thanks for everything you guys do X!" - NOM

Yes a 👊 pump every landing.....if its F/heavy its 2 👊 pumps....
@NASNICK01 Says:
Once again SpaceX has embarrressed NASA. That amazes me ever time, keep up the GREAT work.
@Wil_Liam1 Says:
A 150 lb person falling 4' exerts over 3k lbs of force,enough to break every bone,and internal bit in a human body,especially when one factors In the bounce numbers of 2-3x minimum bounces which equivalates to almost 4k lbs of slammed force against any and all body parts, both Internally and externally.. which means any human,or living being on that booster when landing would die almost immediately due to catastrophic breakdown...
@TravisRichey Says:
Where's the host? The whole thing feels so dry and sterile without someone enthusiastic to narrate what's going on. I always thought that was a brilliant move on SpaceX's part, it fed into the publicity and spectacle of the launches! I'll do it if you can't afford the time to pay one of your engineers to do it! Inspector Spacetime narrating rocket launches, come on! :-) ~Trav

Congrats to the entire SpaceX team. Simply awsome!
@juomini Says:
The sound of no commentary. Wonderful. ❤
@juanvillasenor9190 Says:
I thought this mission was scheduled for around 11PM on August 22?! No, I know it WAS so why the schedule change? I’m literally out here near Vandenberg because I had read about it and planned to see it and for some reason something told me to check the SpaceX site and low and behold… it was launched at a little past 2:30 AM……. I’m so freakin upset this isn’t even funny.

@charlesfellows6736 Says:
Thanks for removing the narration. You have done this so much I love just hearing Space X controllers.

I never get tired of watching a 13 story building fall from the sky and land on a football field sized ship. The scale is epic. Can't wait for Starship!

Thank you for the on-rocket shots, I love watching the land drop away and the plume expanding!!!
@nancyfazendin8132 Says:
I really missed the host on this one. I like watching it on my TV, so I didn't know where it was launching from, how many times the booster has launched, telling us where it is heading. What ship is picking it up. When it's about to land on the ship. It was not up to SpaceX standards. 😢
@juaerez69 Says:
Not missing the commentary all that much. I imagine the people watching this have heard what MaxQ is plenty of times. Go SpaceX!
@FetchTheCow Says:
It feels weird without the applause when the booster lands!
@dingolovethrob Says:
stunning.
@Administrator_O-5 Says:
I'm 47 but many people think this is just cool & they're right it is, but there is so very much more to this. Not only has SpaceX mastered complete 1st stage & fairing reusability, but they have gotten this down to the point where they can launch, land the 1st stage & get the 2nd stage to its 1st engine cutoff & into a stable orbit in 9 min 16 sec! That is insanely short!
@petef.4361 Says:
I'd like to echo what another person posted below, please oh PLEASE can we drop the commentary and just listen to mission control, just like in this video? It was such a refreshing change!!!
