Had me cracking up, a great time will be had by all, but I can't make it. Boo hoo! Just make sure you do one thing... LOOK at the eclipse and don't just run the event. Plus, take a few pictures, then put your camera down. It's a one time deal and you don't get a second chance. The one total eclipse I've see was more impressive than even you have described.

I hope the weather holds with no clouds. Be sure to have lots of trash barrels because people are messy. Remind people to have those special solar glasses to watch the eclipse with so they don't go blind. Merch for people to buy if they want to. I will be watching the partial eclipse from my front yard here in North Georgia. Good luck with this huge project.

For the solar eclipse glasses everyone is talking about, if there is not enough time, or it is too expensive to order branded ones, you can get basic ones and just put a logo sticker on them. Charge a dollar each to recover costs. Or build it into the event cost by adding $1-2/person when people book and just hand them out when they check in.

And if I see something like in "Midsommar"... grr. I can't help with security matter. I would have problems with getting to work from different continent. On 27 July 2018 there was a moon eclipse visible from Szczecin. Never had a chance to see full solar eclipse. But please... don't organize event in Mayan style like in Apocalypto. It might scare interested ones in the future.

Matt, you can’t look at a solar eclipse, you risk blindness and at the very least, permanent eye damage. Research ways to see it without going blind. Totality only lasts moments and then your eyes can be damaged again. It’s not worth the risk.

Honestly I wouldn’t do it. Not a good idea for your first even since you’re not used to hosting events like you are talking. People are going to be even crazier than they are on a full moon and wouldn’t want to see you have to deal with a lawsuit because someone acted stupid during the event.

That said, EVERYONE ELSE SHOULD GO SEE MATT AT THE RESORT.
I’d like to see a little more ink on my subscription tshirt. That’s not going to happen if the man continues to be spread thin.
Seriously? Just a badge? No back graphics? I got excited because my favorite demo shirts are badged on the front with a decent graphic on the back.
