It's not Gandalf and Frodo edited behind a mixing table, it's a mixing table edited *in front* of Gandalf and Frodo.
The original photo is of Gandalf (Sir Ian Mckellen) holding onto a folding chair with a ciggy, it was during the filming of The Fellowship, so it wouldn't surprise me if it was after recording the balrog scene💀
