Completely the same issue. I now struggle with panicking days before an interview solely for the fact that I’m scared of my anxiety coming up. I don’t like needing to take things, but propranolol really helps with performance anxiety before interviews

I just experienced a horrible anxiety attack now in an interview struggling to formulate answers to questions I already know ,stuttering etc. I want to die,,I’m in my room now and my body has been shaking violently,my breathing is hell ..my is my own mind trying to kill me
@JohnnLW Says:
Exact same thing happened to me during a design interview, 1st interview went fine, people person interview. Second interview started out great, however there was a more technical person asked me to explain my process, which I wasn't expecting, I instantly tanked. Great to hear your experience dude, thanks for sharing, it's comforting to know there's others in the same boat

I messed up my first interview so bad. i just walked out LOL "What do you know about logistics?" "uh- uh i- uh...." bye

Thank you so much for posting this video. Sorry that the interview didn’t go your way. But thanks for opening up about this challenge. You seem like the type who learns from your experiences though. This helped me out to know I’m not alone with anxiety attacks and interviews.

Do you have an Instagram page?
@betzaidasantiago7440 Says:
It really sucks 😩 Especially, when you know you're qualified and a smart person. Sucks, when your anxiety takes over and everything you practice goes out of the window.

I felt so much anxiety too before my first legit technical interview. I reached out to my professor to setup a mock interview and it really helped me. I think it helped tremendously since with him I could tell I didn't sound as energetic and passionate as I want to be and as clear when talking about myself and my coding thought process. He gave me his tips, review, and how I can improve and I think it helped get the jitters out of the way. Honestly I think mock interviews are the best way to go even if the questions you get are completely different as it'll help you get in the tempo and groove of an interview.

Hope you come back to YouTube, so many fake /bad actors now days, you come off very organic and natural which I appreciate. Enjoyed your content as well.

I am watching this video as i just finished my interview and i had a panic attack and i was sweating...i didn't know what to speak and i spoke what i am not supposed to...

So you looked at the Recursion section, ignored it, and got the exact question in an interview. Sounds like you should stop cutting corners and take it seriously. I’ve also used Algo Expert and have 110 or so problems done. Fibonacci is a popular question all over youtube, and various other sites. Anagrams is also a popular question. It seriously looks like you don’t do many mock interviews at all, and maybe try memorizing answers. Both are a real problem for the long term of your future interviews. If you can’t control anxiety attacks, focus on what you can control which is preparation. You also really have to ask yourself, why did the anxiety attack come up in that exact moment? Is it purely due to being nervous? Is it really outside of your control? If it’s that bad you might as well mark yourself as having a disability and needing some accommodation from the interviewers.

If you're unemployed then just get a job duh😎
@adhoc3018 Says:
Exactly the same thing happened to me three days ago with Facebook. Even the construction thing, not sleeping well, everything. At the time of the interview my mind was blank. I couldn't write the code even though I've solved hundreds of problems from Codeforces, UVa, and Leetcode. I've worked very hard and this happens to me. It feels unreal. The hardest lesson I learned three days ago is that hard work doesn't always pay off.

Keep pushing, keep rolling with the punches, in the same sitch just gotta keep fighting and will be soon rewarded que sera sera
@ChessFlix Says:
Damn bro, you didn't nail nth fib? Ouch.
@ominous450 Says:
Interview for mid level companies. You don't have to go through the leetcode technical interview nonsense. FAANGs are hard to get into
@dessiecheersjr8321 Says:
Hope he’s cool, his live seemed troublesome
@jed123e Says:
I like what you said about even an hour of practicing to solve a problem is enough. I completely agree with you, most of the time it's not about understanding straight away, but spending the amount of time it takes to eventually help you understand. Since a lot of people avoid this, they give up too early.
@xlegich.sinaustin7236 Says:
Keep pushing my friend.

Big thanks for this video! Anxiety is terrible but we can beat it!
@ginicholas4322 Says:
Yeah, brother I hear you on the anxiety attack. I had one when I had to speak up in a meeting. I've experienced anxiety attacks before but not one this bad. I couldn't speak, mouth stupid dry, had the shakes, mind is going a mile a minute and couldn't focus. I've never experienced something so great, anxiety is the real deal and Covid doesn't help.
@Radhep123 Says:
Hey, do you mind linking or naming the udemy course that guy from your bootcamp used to learn data structures and algorithms?
@twocrazyeyes Says:
You do a great job of these videos man. You're an inspiration.
@FabioTheGreat Says:
The way your describe your interview, I'm start to think that you peed yourself during the interview. BRUH.

I've had problems answering and explaining coding questions I've done tens of times. And managing anxiety while having multiple interviews in a day, I've learned to compartmentalize everything even though I might feel like crap after the first interview I know the next interview is kind of a new start.
@jameshizon4861 Says:
Yo bro...I have a B.S. with data science background. I have had around 20 to 30 interviews yet no job. The anxiety really got to me during interviews so I messed up on a lot. Mental health in tech is greatly and often neglected essential for success.
@jonahmoon Says:
Hey bro, I had the exact same experience during interviews where I got really nervous, the whole mouth dryness and everything. Like some people mentioned, doing mock interviews on pramp or interview.io and doing a gang of leetcode and algoexpert questions helped build up my confidence. Good luck man, keep grinding and you will get to where you want to be!
@casyazmon6120 Says:
Thanks for this bro.. Anxiety and Impostor syndrome is what we have to overcome.. Courage dude
@sukhmanpreetsingh1525 Says:
Keep the vids coming
@T_Quik Says:
Totally get it. I'm comfortable coding, but when it comes to coding under a time crunch like for exams it takes a lot of energy to pull through. Although it took a year, I'm finally able to focus on the task at hand.. I believe in you bud.
@dnogitsune9286 Says:
I just finished Lambda and in the Job search portion. I am also a Team Lead.
@leonlovespho Says:
I’ll have a mental breakdown if I don’t win the MacBook. Thanks for sharing, bud
@everrick1 Says:
Yess! Bad interviews happen. I had one in Atlanta and it probably goes down as one of my worst experiences ever! Including I had major health issues going on too! You learn from it!
@reebosauruz Says:
You're not alone man. I got the same exact question and also froze up.... even solved it 5 minutes before the interview lol
@thejungle2255 Says:
I'll just say this you're the only if not the top 3 of REALISTIC programmers out there ... most of us really don't have someone like a friend that keeps it real and gives us advice without being afraid of looking (not perfect)....you're one of the greatest programmers out there ... you're sure a cool dude ... love you bro
@NerdyDave Says:
😄
@ryanlackey2598 Says:
Your honesty is awesome. Is there any way to talk about how you apply for jobs? Like if they ask for all types of experience and still apply.
@Protocoding Says:
I believe you only interview well 40% of the time. Anxiety attacks are very common!
@juwoncaleb Says:
hey man, it's perfectly fine. I deal with anxiety attacks a lot, it got so bad that it made me cry at night. I have gotten better at handling it. The shitty way your past employer treated you could have been a contributing factor to your anxiety attack . Subconsiously you might fear if you would get a job again or so . You be fine by Gods grace, you a great person and you don't make all this make-believe stories of how your life is the best and all , your videos are relatable , that's why i never miss your video .You make me feel better
@godwavenexus Says:
That sucks that that happened, man. Maybe you can try something like Pramp and get in some mock interviews for more experience. You could even try online tutoring. You’ll get more practice writing code in front of people while getting paid to do it.
