Having an American accent and just choosing to use meters is just about as obnoxious as it gets.

Crude refrigeration was invented well before 21st century. Ancient Persians ate flavored ice cones

简单来说就是全程冷链在冰箱被发明出来之前就已经在美国成为现实了。 讽刺的是这在中国至今仍然是只有几个大城市才有的奢侈。

The key is to get the water out thru a hydrogenation process. Removing the water, then adding it back later.

In this world the winners seem to most always be the immoral and the greedy. If Tudor had invested in Gorrie's invention he wouldn't have ruined a good man that spent his life helping people, and he also would've made a ton of money from the cheaper means of production. Tesla and Edison's story is also a good example of this. And now we have tRump!

I grew up in the late 60’s early 70 in Pennsylvania. I remember ice trucks and my family used a dry ice box.
@sparky6086 Says:
My dad was an iceman in the late 1930's, when he was 12 years old. Many people still had iceboxes then. He also drove the ice truck. Although driver's licenses existed then, no one paid any attention to whether someone actually had a driver's license (at least in small town Georgia).

1. I believe the Persian Icehouses were described slightly confusing. 2. I believe the 10000 USD in 1806 are more than 250000 today. I did it for some years ago for the start of the 20th century and then the factor was over 35. How can this be only 25 for the start of the 19th century

14:53 I hope you don’t consider all of your audience stupid. The play, “The Iceman Cometh” has literally nothing to do with a man who delivers ice.

Title of the video: "Why Cold Drinks Were Deadly Before 1914" Length: 30 minutes and 16 seconds Answer to the title: 25:45 What is the main content of this video? A history on the sale of ice. Do I care? No. Was it worth 26 minutes of my life? Also no.

I'm Gen X, so our grandparents lived through the depression. My grandma never said the word refrigerator, she always called it " the icebox'. She told me about the icebox of her day. We're so lucky to live with the convenance of a refrigerator.

5:53 yeah we also had that in montreal, where even in 2020 there was still snow from like 2010 that was still there buried under all the snow from the other years, and the summer was just not long or hot enough to make it all melt before the next winter.
@boblopers1620 Says:
so i see that being a ice harvester was about as safe as being a log driver, and that means very dangerous. damn some people were wild in that time to do these kinds of jobs.
