Imaging X-ray Polarimetry Explorer (IXPE) Mission

Imaging X-ray Polarimetry Explorer (IXPE) Mission

????

SpaceX is targeting Thursday, December 9 for Falcon 9's launch of NASA's Imaging X-ray Polarimetry Explorer (IXPE) mission to low Earth orbit from historic Launch Complex 39A (LC-39A) at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The instantaneous launch window is at 1:00 a.m. EST (6:00 UTC). A backup opportunity is available on Friday, December 10 at 1:00 a.m. EST (6:00 UTC), should it be needed. This will be the fifth flight for this Falcon 9's first stage booster, which previously supported launch of Crew-1, Crew-2, SXM-8, and CRS-23. Following stage separation, Falcon 9's first stage will land on the Just Read the Instructions droneship, which will be located in the Atlantic Ocean.

Pleased to say that some of my team manufactured a critical part of IXBE. So cool that something I have had my hands on is now whizzing around in orbit.

Why do you turn comments off on so many videos? Is it you do not want a narrative you do not control getting a grip on some lies we can see???

Too much narration and not enough telemetry and clear call outs from the flight team. You don't need every second filled with a voice.

Space travel is not achieved by force. We have explored force for an age and it is time we move passed the notion that force will take us through the cosmos. Ai can be very useful in limitless space travel. But storing energy and dispersing energy is not the way to achieve an energy dependant humanity. We are deceiving ourselves in going further into force. Black holes are similar to worm holes try to imagine something escaping itself. Maybe that confused some people. Forces like rockets and other high energy output forces have energetic limits.for as long as humanity depend on storing forces we will never know limitless energy but only the limits that we have placed on energy by giving it a form. Energy has no form remember that it is everywhere!

Dear SpaceX, I'm definitely an out of the box thinker. So this idea came to me and I'm posting it here just in case it may be of a benefit for your StarShip program. It would seem to me that the fins that guide StarShip to the landing site are only used upon re-entry, so they are not needed when ascending to space. That begs the question of why not install them in orbit? At the same time the problems you are encountering with the heat shield tiles coming off during flight because of vibrations and thermal shock may also be solved if a heat shield of sorts is also installed in orbit. The fins and heat shield could still be re-used. Have fun exploring this idea. I hope it can bring us one tiny step closer to the great beyond. Ps. The fins and heat shield would be in orbit prior to the arrival of the StarShip. Just in case anyone was wondering. :)

SPACEX, have a idea for your first starship to Mars. Fill it up with the Boston dynamics dogs, groups of specialized teams. Have ones for exploring, others for setting up equipment, others for construction. At 150 tons to Mars and if 100lbs each average you could send I good 50000 and have charge stations and initial setup equipment for future missions. Plus with detailed information on landing area it could better help with further missions. 😊😊

So Mr Elon Musk. What can we do here to get people from Earth to Proxima Centauri b? Lets aim not for mars. But get some crazy engine going that can Defy expectations to hit Proxima Centauri B in 30 days or less. - Best Answer I can think of right now is taking 2 steps. 1. Build an artificial planet out of Space materials from Asteroids and the next 500 years we float that way, or 2. Come up with some new "Tesla" branded engine that accelerates shockwaves through magnetic fields, and uses some crazy physics that operate in Vacuums. How do we keep making something go faster than "fast". But not cheat physics of light. Maybe we don't really know if light travels that fast in space. What if photons are just lost in blackness and it can go faster yet. (thoughts). eh. its something to ponder. the world may never know... soon.

Space X makes it all look so easy. As someone who remembers Sputnik (I was 10), I am always amazed by the propulsive landings of the main booster on a ship ,at sea, at night. An incredibly difficult feat done as if it was just another landing. Bravo ! Space X ! You have made the exploration of Space fun again !
