Stop telling Joerg there might be a safety issue with his inventions!
HE WILL TEST IT!
We want more inventions, not less Joerg!

Seems like this knife could have a maritime rescue role. Hard to drop and easy to use your hands.
Also, also:
For people with smaller fingers, maybe a little foam? Just a thought. It could be included with the product and would be easy to slip onto the grip. Cheap and easy to replace aswell. ;)
@Shagragg Says:
i like the first wooden one.. but maybe make it only one sided, for germ,an laws etc. a small light edc/survival/last ditch knife.
@pubcollize Says:
I really love the utility knife you went with, but if you still take recommendations - how about a paring knife or peeling knife for the kitchen? Not sure if this design will be convenient for all paring and peeling uses, but for some it should be useful similar to the usefulness of the utility knife.
@timoswarts3686 Says:
Sadly the handle design is done already
@fabulousflufferbum2051 Says:
Well since the parts that land on the side of your fingers need not be fully rigid, it could be a slightly stretchy polymer akin to those exercise bands. Screwed into the solid parts that wrap the inside and outside of the hand. That way the size problem would be fully gone and you could just open your hand fully, stretching those bits and yank it free if it gets stuck. Had a karambit style flip-knife where the joint of the blade could stretch backward a tiny bit so if it got stuck it didn't trap your hand.
@icantcook9998 Says:
I think you should make three different sizes a small size for women
@zeekdageek420 Says:
That would be great for tactical use to hold in your off hand with a firearm. you can shoot and use your fingers but also have a blade ready for surprise QQC… kinda like Solid Snakes pistol and knife combo‼️
@BlueCollarGentleman Says:
Yes. Make it. Thanks for thinking outside the box. Much appreciated.
@lostpuppy8847 Says:
I'd love to use this knife for playing the piano
@jubb8 Says:
How do you carry a double bladed knife like that?
You never let it go!
Because realistically, why would you want to?
@jesseperkins7601 Says:
I want one. No doubt about it. Hell, I'll test a steel one if you'd like
@mightymintychili8411 Says:
If this would be more curved it could be great. Why? Because this could take punchlike movement into stabbing if you would hold blade in opposite way. So near pinki finger you should have karrambit and near indexfinger you should have jambiya. SO? The greatest would be combination between karambit and jambiya, kinda S shape blade. I would not concider to combine knuckle into knife, because you always can have some rings or heavy glove to get knuckle effect.
@justincase1448 Says:
the problem I'm imagining is drawing the knife, you'd most likely have to use both hands to ready it and having it strapped to your sides would probably prevent you from doing that one handed
@alsoaclient Says:
Why not incorporate the handle style into multiple knife designs? That way you could cover all of those styles.
@liveloveeiland Says:
i think utility rather than self defense is a better path just because while i think the locking mechanism and design is very cool and potentially useful, im worried about the speed and ease of the draw
@CJL13122 Says:
I say with the handle construction limiting how much of a tang the blade can have, I could easily see a system for removing a blade and exchanging it with a different one. It would be a weaker point in the knife, but if it isn't for combat and more utility, I think this would be a great addition to allow for more uses. A fillet knife, even a little wood saw blade, almost anything could be attached to the unique handle and allow for a huge amount of customization based on each person's needs for the knife. Really solid design so far, can't wait to see what the next iteration is!
@DaSauceDatsBoss Says:
I would but just the handle such that I can attach whatever I wish to it. For me, more for utility than anything
@riding2nowhere Says:
Joreg is a one man Army. I want one. They ship to the USA?
@HighCoupDeTat Says:
"Rupert's drop"
@kpasa111 Says:
Sure, for legal reasons, promote it as a "utility" knife even though most sales would go to people who really understand what a great defense knife it really is. Look at any weapons catalog and you will see fierce looking, Viking tomahawks promoted as "handy, campsite hatchets." Wink, wink, nod, nod.
@Revellius21 Says:
This design is so genius. This is going places for sure.
@dabspur8761 Says:
The newest one looks perfect
@deplorablekunt Says:
While I feel Ike it would be difficult to orient one’s fingers on a quick-draw of the knife, it definitely has many positive aspects to it. A very unique design. 👍🏿
@PenniesInTheFloorboards Says:
One thing I would worry about is more of a dislocating your fingers instead of breaking them by saying someone were to grab hold of it and pull instead of trying to twist it out of your hand like where it's like straighten your fingers will be pulling on its where it locks on your knuckles I would be worried that it would dislocate your knuckles
@mattberneux Says:
It is exactly like karambit. But the snake handle is very nice and useful.
@wyattking9268 Says:
Please do a reverse edge version like ed Calderons pikal fruit knife that design would have my money for sure
@fainfarm Says:
Definitely a utility knife. Can’t wait to buy one!!
@rkeikiokalanim Says:
Make all three! Utilities for work. Combat for...combat. and Survival with a couple extra features.
@bryanrotchell2144 Says:
I say fairplay to you ,what a knife
@WorldWearyAngel Says:
i think it would be damaged just like the wood model because the spiraly snake part provides points of failure because the force transfer is gonna break those loops
@aushbegosh3032 Says:
Utility is definitely the way to go it seems useful but not for stabing. The lack of a proper handle will make it to flimsy for combat, one good hit will cause the coils to pinch down on your fingers and possibly even get stuck. but on the same token you could adjust it to fit any finger if you had a smooth ledge on either side to tap woth a hammer.
@62cripple Says:
I want one....such a cool design....
@inodinojan878 Says:
Will we be able to buy this snake knife?
@generalnordhaus2627 Says:
Man kann es nicht mit Handschuhn tragen, autdor oder als soldat sind sie sehr nützlich
@hermitkryb Says:
Short and small I feel would fit the grip use more; good for minimizing potential dangers of surroundings when using/doing something else while still gripped. I personally like this knife design for the potential I see in the uses within woodworking and diving fields. I like the idea of the fillet knife a lot too.
@meshmellow Says:
A doctor here (specialist in Rheumatology). In case of longitudinal impact, like if you were punching someone straight, the misalignment of the metacarpal bones (the knuckles) and the leverage of the frame of the snake will likely cause dislocation and /or fracture of the fingers that have “the snake” behind them. And are pushed forward relative to the ones that have the snake in front. Nice concept, and this was not intended to diminish your work, rather to help perfect it.
@niknitro8751 Says:
I'd love it as a utility/survival knive.
@EdmansTube2008 Says:
Sooo... let's say you frequently use that as a utility knife. You have it on your hand for long time periods at work, several days per week. At some point you get so used to the feeling, you don't even notice you have it on your hand. Let's say you work construction and want do drop something down a floor or out of the building, it get's caught on the knife, you get off balance and fall down with it. Or you have both arms full with packaging stuff (paper, foil, plastic straps etc), you want to throw it into the garbage press, it get's caught onto your knife... you probably won't fall into it and it shouldn't be running while you dump stuff into it (worksafety and such), but you may fall into the gap between the thing you stand on and the press, messing yourself up with the fall or falling onto your knife. Maybe you are REALLY exhausted and sweaty... brush the sweat off your forehead with the back of your hand, cut into your nose... or put your hand above your hip and lean to the side...
Or imagine a loop of rope or cable catches the knife, and your hand get's pulled away from you with massive force. It will pull you with you, mess up your joints if you're not a very tough, trained person. If the pull is also rather fast, it will completely destroy, maybe even tear off, the weakest joint from your fingers to your shoulder, which ever that may be in your case. And you will NOT be able to let go in time. I even doubt you would be able to drop it fast enough to NOT piss off the police officer, if he's pointing a gun at you, shock and adrenaline and stuff.
How often did you move your hand to point at something or gesture and in the process hit somebody you didn't see? I know I have grazed one of my co-workers dozens of times... Imagine having a knife in your hand that you aren't even aware of.
Some of this sounds very unlikely, I know, but I guarantee you, it WILL happen, if these become popular. And none of this would happen with a regular knife (except the gesturing maybe, but if you do that with a sharp blade that you actively hold in your hand, you are a complete jackass, a thread to yourself and everyone around you xD).
Not saying this isn't a usefull concept, but there definetly are some unfixable safety issues with it.
@aarondalton9982 Says:
Combat knife for sure
@iamscoutstfu Says:
I would like to see the finger loops made slightly deeper, but awesome design over all. I designed a quick release "pseudo-sheath" for karambit style knives which allows you to use the tool as a control implement without the risk of cutting someone while retaining the ability to deploy the sharpened edge with a simple flick of the finger, providing non-lethal and lethal capability into one implement. Its cool to see you also innovating in this area. Do you have an .stl for this? I'd like to print an example for research.
@s.owl9 Says:
I would love to see other channels review this design, like Skallagrim, Shadiversity or even Hard2Hurt
@breakthecode4634 Says:
Theres obvious reason why you could break your fingers with this. When you have a metal version and can really stab something youl understand. Your handle on your demo even broke for the exact reason that people think you will hurt your hand.
@Uthael_Kileanea Says:
Would be a great utility knife. Maybe a beer bottle opener with a "+"screwdriver protrusion on the other side.
See how many utilities you can chuck in.
make another similar foot knife.
The Monkey Rebellion will be eternally grateful to you
@TiagoSilva-sq4gp Says:
Very Nice knife my friend, very useful
@fourlitre3213 Says:
get a bloody patent first fast.
@glenichou Says:
When you have a traditional handle the shock are transfert to the handle, so you wrap the palm around it. Now if your joints and nuckles are the one connected to that, from my experience it hurts. I enjoy the idea, but that need to be digged up before speaking about selfdefense. Not saying that it has no utility, but the only storys I heard where people needed to have a knife firmly attached to there hands occured in prison, most of the time in murder scenario. Maybe there is some studies and research you could do on this subject.
@83phantom3 Says:
Definitely a utility knife because they have more of a need. Because you are doing more things so the ability to have a knife ready to go on hand. No pun intended would be more useful in more scenarios.
@ap0lmc Says:
WharnCliff blade style makes for excellent utility Knife that is easily sharpened as well
