I respect you support both home defence/the right to own weapons, but also Ukraine. It’s nice bc I think people can still support human rights, while agreeing with owning weaponry (but sadly a lot of the weapon community doesn’t seem to get that)

I have an idea , that I probably will never make by myself: get a sheet of dyneema ballistic textile, cut into strips and stack it into a billet sprinkling each layer with some sort of nano carbide particles or technical diamond dust. then heat the billet to 120C and then basically pattern wield it like damascus steel. The problem is, UHMWPE has so little adhesion to everyting so I doubt that mineral dust will incorporate well, but i've googled some papers about reinforcing UHMWPE with those compaunds.

just what comes in my mind seeing this - what about a 3 layer sandwich HPL-Carbon-HPL ? Don't know if Carbon shows on radar scanners 😃 But might be a way to improve hard- + sharpness of the blade... Just an idea for next project... Btw. love your ideas and its features!
@patrickday4206 Says:
Maybe try a carbon fiber version

Excellent work!
@benellias87 Says:
Joerg you to reevaluate what is detectable or not... scanners &body scanners can detect if in the water bottle is water or something else... they can detect your toothbrush... sure, old metal detectors will not trip the alarm... but that's about it...
@JohnFleshman Says:
You giving Rolfy some treats made me smile. Dogs being spoiled always makes my day. Very cool material for a "stealth" knife. Sorry if I spelled the doggos name wrong.

Very nice welcome in the new shop!
@EliotHochberg Says:
People who play Minecraft make axes, swords, and pickaxes out of wood as part of a game. This is equivalent to a wooden ax, you should try making a wooden pickax and see if you can split a stone

“ I really like the meat, thank you for the meat, is there more meat here? The table still smells like meat, you’re standing next to the table, is there more meat, I would like some more meat, I’m looking for meat. Can I have some more meat please? No more meat? OK I guess no more meat. Wait is there more meat? No I guess there’s no more meat. “ - The dog
@EliotHochberg Says:
Wow you can definitely cut the vegetables with both of these nonmetal knives, lack of being able to fully hone down to an Adams with definitely shows. These are knives, but they’re not particularly sharp. You don’t have very much control, and when you cook, you know that if you have a dull knife, you’re likely to injure yourself.so while these do work if you had to use them, they are not as safe as a sharp metal knife. Or perhaps ceramic or glass even
@EliotHochberg Says:
So there’s no rule that says knives have to be made out of metal, and that’s fine. But other than just making a knife out of a different material, what uses there specifically for a knife that can’t be seen by x-rays other than to sneak a weapon into somewhere where they’re trying to not have any weapons?
@meshmellow Says:
Why would you need an undetectable knife other than for hijacking a plane or similar acts of patriotism? Asking for a friend…
@sufferedlearnedchanged Says:
7:40 Why are you a big supporter of Ukraine? It's an insanely corrupt country.
@OnTheRiver66 Says:
You could add a thin hardened steel membrane in the middle of that composite and get a sharp metal edge without adding much to the weight.

@jansmokkelaar3710 Says:
In these times where knife attacks are a daily occurrence, why do you make this kind of video? Why do you make people wiser with these kinds of ideas? Everything for the likes and someone else's safety is secondary! Shame

In American prisons they use soap to laminate pressed layers of paper and sharpen them on the concrete before concealing them rectally in case of emergency.
@themadscientest Says:
Next time you make a metal free knife do wooden pegs in the handle, just to have a piece with grain running diagonal to the stress in the knife. Also next time you make a prototype you should look into the Molotow brand "liquid chrome" since it gives the best finish of all the silver paints I've seen.
@antplace Says:
The HLD is paper soaked in Phenol formaldehyde resin so I wouldn't touch my food with this knife. Otherwise looks great :) Its no match for a really hard wood though. I have some knifes made from ebony and similar, those are quite hard, approaching the level of iron.
