Why do you call it a weapon? It’s a tool. On a sidenote, as a weapon it would appear to be very capable, as a tool not so much. :)

kann man die auch kaufen ?

Awesome indeed! :)

Proof of concept is cool, in regards to anything other than a gimmick sold in a mall, it's grotesque.
The comment espousing "you should know better" was on regards to axe culture. If you were even remotely educated on axe culture; it's big like gun, and car culture, you'd know this will be the most hated product ever brought to market. Given your track record Joerge, you'll also be asking $900++. That being said, for those people that just enjoy engineering, that just like weird, unique items this is great and congrats. For the rest of us this is the hardest pass since the Donner party.

You are absolutely terrifying when you want to be.
@chrismartin3676 Says:
❤ I need one maybe two of them
@JSFrederic Says:
A thumb flick notch to open the axe will be nice. It still feel dangerous having to pull out axe with the sharp end facing the hand like @03:44. A sweat palm or i would imagine a work glove would make it hard to open it. As for the screws, if were to increase the handle size, maybe a small pocket at the handle butt to keep them (maybe even spaces for spares) will be nice to keep them from losing.
@knightforlorn6731 Says:
It’s too cool I can’t wait
@greyvr4336 Says:
Seems like proved them right. Lot of pounding, took forever to cut a tiny bit.
@mrkiky Says:
I dunno about this one tbh. Usually the danger with joints failing isn't immediately but in time and with use, which is very hard to test because it takes a long time. Also, if the lower join fails, it won't close over your fingers as you chop down, but if you don't notice it and pull your hand up to continue the chopping it will absolutely close over your fingers. A thing that you might miss if you don't test it thoroughly. People thought RBMK reactors don't explode either.

Engineers used to be those who survived growing up using their hands, building things, solving problems in high stakes scenarios. Who then managed to get into uni and intellectualize it. All while learning some historical stuff they can feed from only because they already developed the juices to break things down.
Modern engineers are the reverse and natural ability and creativity rarely work that way. They rote learn, plagerise, cheat to qualify to be cogs in teams overseen by other cogs better connected and dishonest enough to BS, steal ideas, and play admin.
Like many industries nowadays it is bout spoon feeding and quotas. Without meritocracy they lack substance and only have ego

Jorg, could there be a possibility to make a folding bolo, and a folding tanto in a se😂ries of feature knives.
Built as a series? Same dimensions as your khouri folder.
Thanks
@papagrim9777 Says:
You should add spots to screw the pins into when not in use. That way they are always on the axe.
@knightforlorn6731 Says:
well I want one please

Honestly, I don't care so much about the stuff you showcase, I just love how genuine you are joerg. So many people on the internet curate their personality to market themselves and it makes them seem so inauthentic. You on the other hand just fully nerd out about your passions and it's awesome
@justinnoe5753 Says:
I rilly like your axe and knife designs I hope you keep coming up with more of them
@davidmeeks2405 Says:
Very impressive, I Like. Need to produce a larger size. Might even consider a small, medium and a large. Eventually maybe an extra large. I'll take a whole set.
@michaelweber9290 Says:
Cool
@AppaGo420-rz5bz Says:
It looks cool but if used at as an ax eventually one of those hinges will fail. Without a doubt.
@cristiancosneanu Says:
The handle not being dangerous is true, only for pushing motions. If you pull and the lock fails the weight of the axe could potentially be a very good finger chopper.
Maybe you don't need the fast open action, and on the handle pivot you put a multiple step locking with a button press. 🤷♂
Also not an engineer :D so who knows...

Telling a German engineer is probably the biggest mistake some could make.

Sorry Jorg… that ain’t no good axe. Didn’t even produce a chip till the 5th strike. Ladybird coulda snapped that stick with my Fiskars in 4 whacks. Love you and the channel but this axe ain’t it buddy. Keep up the great vids brother! 😁

Pretty sure the company who would prize this axe the utmost is Cold Steel. The are the company who boasts the biggest folding knives. The Espada XL is 7.5 inches of blade. But then they made a foldable machete... like 9 inches. Upgrade from a Machetes is a Tomahawk... or Axe. But I would pitch it as a tomahawk because that basically means Tactical hand Ax.
I think the odds of them buying this design from you are very much not low. Id give it a go.
When I saw it folded, I had zero doubt it would work. It was past the wooden stage which means it means business. The amount of abuse as hand axes go? It will weather the storm,
probably think Joe X could break this... he's managed to snap pretty much every luxury knife brands new knife. Question is how many swings against a car could this take? I think it would be a long video.
I'd have to imagine the ax head's end would become flattened/bent/chipped before the lock mechanism is giving up.

It looks like a lot of fun👍 I have a bunch of hand forged hatchets and axes from hultifors and gransfors as well as a few other smiths. Best hatchets and axes I’ve ever used 👍I would like to try that, like I said it looks kinda fun😁👍

The grind on the edge looks off as it looks like a regular knife grind rather then what you want on an axe.
