I think the CIA model can be even shorter if you just change the lever system a tiny bit without losing the ammount of travel distance. Then it doesnt need the front part, and be even more compact, also the foldable stock would fit well with that model, or a reversed compound crossbow limbs so its tighter to the base of the crossbow taking less space even, mounted at the back where once the origina Cobra scope mount used to be.

The skull ejector need to be cross guarded so zombie do not try to get too close, also putrefied head might not eject if the hole just get a little bigger. Also you should put some stuff inside your shoulder guard like a lighter/saw or any surviving tools or even tools to repair the damn crossbow.
