There is no doubt in my mind that the USA and other countries have a UFO recovery plan and execute it regularly. The very definition of UFO is Unidentified Flying Object. That does not make it alien or confirm it is from another planet. It simply means that we do not know what it is/was. After recovery however it becomes Identified, making it no longer a UFO. Weather it was a meteor or an enemy spy plane or even something else, makes it worth finding and recovering. Just the value of capturing one crashed enemy spy plane makes the recovery worth the time and money. While i completely agree that the recovery of something from another planet, besides a meteor, is extremely unlikely. After decades of working around stupid people, one thing was common. They are fun to mess with. I can't recall the amount of times we told the stupid coworker something that was not true and let the joke play out. I could totally see someone who recovers crashed planes telling this guy that they are UFO's from space just to get a few giggles.
