I agree with your review. The movie is funny, but it's not hard to see that the authors don't write comedy. The jokes hit, but not as well as professional comedians can do it. Likewise the actors were clearly amateurs. Bottom line is that it's a good amateur comedy movie, but Adam Sandler and Rob Schneider have done funnier movies

It had potential, and could have been good but the casting issues really let them down. They tried to hire professional actors, and everyone said no because they knew if they started in this they would never work again. So the stars were sportscasters and podcast hosts. Hence the atrocious comedic timing.

I've noticed that conservatives are usually utterly incapable of actually poking fun at both sides. It's why their comedians typically suck because it isn't really comedy if you're just crapping on one side.

Honestly I enjoyed the movie for what it was, but don't disagree with your critiques. It wasn't actually a super offensive movie. But I think they were going for not 100% amped up. More just slightly more than the real world to exaggerate it.

Second time I've heard pacing is off. Not paying to watch possibly a boring movie. Loved Sorority Boys early 00s and I can't deny watching the dog water movies like Beta House for entertainment.

Nice review. It got more than 3 laughs from me, but it's certainly not a film I'll likely find my way back to watching anytime soon. I think they could have taken a few shots at certain conservatives in the film as well to make it feel a little more balanced, but I get why they didn't do that lol. I'd give the movie a C. It's not like they had top notch actors to elevate the film the way Adam Sandler, Jim Carry and Will Ferrel did in their primes. As you said, comedic timing was off. The main characters just weren't memorable or unique. Its basically what Id expect from a company that makes online video content and has little experience with writing and producing comedies.

As someone who leans right I have to agree with you on this review. The movie wasn't that good. Comedy was missing and it didn't have to do with the subject but the writing. Not good.
