Crew-2 Mission | Departure

Crew-2 Mission | Departure

????

SpaceX and NASA are targeting no earlier than Monday, November 8 at 2:05 p.m. EST, 7:05 UTC, for Dragon to autonomously undock from the International Space Station and splash down approximately 8 hours later off the coast of Florida. Aboard the spacecraft will be Crew-2 astronauts Shane Kimbrough, Megan McArthur, Akihiko Hoshide, Thomas Pesquet, who were launched to the space station from historic Launch Complex 39A (LC-39A) at Kennedy Space Center in Florida on Saturday, April 23, 2021. After performing a series of departure burns to move away from the space station, Dragon will conduct multiple orbit-lowering maneuvers, jettison the trunk, and re-enter Earth's atmosphere for a soft-water landing at approximately 10:33 p.m. EST on Monday, November 8. After Crew-2's safe return to Earth, SpaceX and NASA will target no earlier than Wednesday, November 10 at 9:03 p.m. EST, or 1:03 UTC on November 11, for Falcon 9's launch of the Crew-3 mission to the International Space Station. The webcast of Crew-2's return to Earth will go live about 2.5 hours prior to undocking.

Elon is NASAs biggest liability. Real bummer his ego puts in jeopardy all the great work being done. If scientific projects like these inspire future generations, what does the ego of wealthy people do? Gross

@ihateandreykrasnokutsky Says:
So the Dragon had been doing it's orbiting around the ISS by using gravity between Dragon and ISS? Or was it just work of Dragon's thrusters, and the gravity is too low to do this?
