He needs to do research and not go off what "people say." The brains of male and female sexes differ. It's not just about their organs. There is more estrogen in a females brain than male. When a, say,male has gender dysphoria, he has more estrogen than a normal man has. Among other neurological and biological factors, that male (the brain) would feel like a female (brain) because the chemicals are off.
When they see how they physically look is different than how they feel (chemical wise) they identify with their feeling/brain primary to their body.
When they say they feel like a woman in a man's body, it's a chemical issue.
Just like depression is a chemical issue. Years ago, people didn't think depression was a real illness.
So when people change their body to match their gender they are trying to get rid of the dysphoria not pretend to be someone they are not.
I'm not transgender. I have my biases. I listened to testimonies and researched it. Having a transgender cousin helped too. Now I'm better informed.
