We are here on this earth in these bodies because of the war in heaven. Satan wanted to create a government run by himself. A third of the angels chose to follow Satan, another third sat on the fence, the remainder chose to continue following God. At that time God had one rule for all of us, don't violate someone's freewill. The purpose of Satan's government was to circumvent this one rule. To be able to force people to do what Satan thought was good and force us not to do what he thought was bad. And to make the lesson fair we can't remember our earlier existence, so that those who were more advanced in our growth would not have an advantage. Also, to make it fair, God the father, agreed to step aside so it couldn't be said he was tipping the scales (we are in his sixth day of rest). His only involvement is through his Son and his Spirit. When our class is over and we have all had a chance to see the inevitable failure of government, we will return to heaven, but now it has been separated into two sides. One side for the elect (predestined) who chose to follow God in the original war and those who were saved and have learned their lesson about this bad idea of government instead of faith in God. The rest have a mere 1000 years to finally decide to follow God and not corruptible man. Trapped in a heaven without the constant influence of those who follow God, to see just how bad it can really get.
As a side note, knowing who the elect are, explains why it would appear some parts of the Bible contradicts other parts. I don't for a minute think the Bible contradicts itself, I do believe that a person or group of persons interpretations, can contradict another person or groups interpretation. So, when some latch onto predestination and others are strictly saved by grace, they are both right and both wrong, it really depends on who is being discussed in the relevant verses.
Some will have problems accepting that we pre-existed in angelic bodies, that we didn't start our entire existence at the moment of conception. An example stands out, though there are many others. We are told that when we die, we return to the father. How can we return to someplace we have never been too? When we are conceived, we are told God deposits, not creates, deposits a soul and a spirit in that moment.
I don't claim to be formally trained in theology, I have come to these conclusions over many decades of prayer and study. I am trained in computer science, where I learned to find patterns and connections in intricate systems and to always question assumptions. We all need to study God's word with fresh eyes, instead of darkly, through a lens of preconceptions.
While this may seem strange and even uncomfortable to some, I take comfort in knowing that we serve a great God. If this has His blessing it will prosper, if not it will fall on stoney ground. Regardless, I know that in all things, His will be done, on earth and in heaven.

Ok, so I had Romans 13 thrown at me by my fellow brothers & sisters in Christ back in 2020. It was because of my not going along with our UK government COVID rules. I did not wear a mask, socially distance, lockdown or have the vaccine. I believed then and I believe today, over 3 years later that the whole COVID narrative was fear filled and was full of lies and deceit played out by government and media. Now, my disobedience was down to me not following lies. I do not obey liers and deceivers. Then there is the role of UK government. In some translations of Romans 13 it says that the sword is only weilded to those who do evil. Well, meeting with friends and relatives was/is not evil. Not locking down and going out side for more than an hour is not evil. Not wearing a face mask that does not and never did stop the virus from spreading is not evil. And, not having the vaccine is not evil.
I could type on and on explaining how God put upon me at the very beginning of reports about a virus in China, that things were not right, and that the church would be led astray.
Im a hard working, tax paying citizen of England. I don't commit crimes, I don't defraud the government or tax man. I'm self employed and my tax returns are honest to the last penny.
I believe our government for the most part is corrupt, it lies, covers up misdeeds, or tries to and I for one do not obey liers or wrong doers. I do not vote either so as far as I'm concerned they certainly have no authority over me.
Romans 13 as I understand it is warning people of the punishment due those who commit evil or wrongful acts and the governing authorities will punish those who commit evil and wrong acts.
