Having to 'convince' people it's true when they're young by constant immersion, surrounding them with others that think the same and use very emotional training means the message has no power of its own. People don't walk away easily from christianity after a lifetime because they 'doubted it their whole life'. Most walk away after studying it and finding out it's origins, how it was made up along the way, and asking themselves if the message and miracles make any sense in light of modern science.
