How can we trust the New Testament writers aren't biased?

????

We can't trust the New Testament writers because they were biased!' Really? Are you sure about that? Does being at the scene of a crime automatically discredit your testimony as a witness? Or does it make you the most important person in the courtroom? In this video, Frank explains that the 'biased' lens of the NT writers does NOT discredit the Gospel accounts. There is Testimony evidence. And there is Hearsay evidence. Testimony evidence is when a person can be cross examined for what he or she said. Hearsay evidence is what is heard outside of a court of law. Hearsay evidence is when the person who gave the evidence was not crossexamined. There is Supernatural events and knowledge. There is natural events and knowledge. Supernatural events are like the stories of Superman. Superman has Supernatural powers. Spiderman has Supernatural power. Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader are Supernatural Superheroes and Supernatural Supervillains. Jesus of Christianity has Supernatural powers just like Superman, Spiderman and Luke Skywalker. Superpowers that come from stories. A real God would have natural powers. A real Nature's God would tell about ways that humans can prevent diseases naturally. The Supernatural can also be described as Superficial. Turning water into wine and walk on water are easily made up in human created stories. No knowledge of Nature needed. Reply

Just as Jesus came in human body over 2000 years ago, to rescue the Jewish nation from myths and fallacies, so has Jesus returned through the medium of the Christ Letters and A Course In Miracles distributed worldwide, to make it abundantly clear that the "Christian Religion" in no way reflects his true CHRIST message either as he taught it in Jerusalem - or at this present time when the Christ Letters and A Course In Miracles will arouse the fury and condemnation of orthodox "Christians." The Christian religion, as it stands at this time, is only a hodgepodge of the muddled thinking of the disciples' selective recollections and Paul's worthy homilies and other early writings. Much later, when the impact of Christianity lacked the visual effect of the gods and goddesses of the Romans, the Christian religion was adorned with "theatrical" but "expedient" nonsense to impress those whom the Ecclesiastical Empire of Rome desired to draw into their fold. This empire later imposed monetary burdens on the gullible people even more iniquitous than the taxes demanded by the secular Roman Empire on conquered nations. Even Caesar did not demand payment for souls to gain entrance to heaven! You may wonder why Jesus is so explicit in his rejection of "Judaism" and "Christianity." It is vital to the success of the distribution of his CHRIST MESSAGE that people should fully understand the true nature of religions which held humankind in their grip until the 20th century. Therefore, until Christians do realize the mythical foundations on which they have placed all their convictions, Christians will find it difficult to let go of cherished beliefs. Please understand that when Jesus makes such statements, he is referring to "Christian religion," to the "tenets of faith," to the "dogma and theology." Jesus is not referring to those great spiritual souls who have sought - and continue to seek God and Truth beyond the dogma and beliefs. Jesus knows Christians have received the inspiration of God into their minds and hearts but are afraid to let go of cherished beliefs. Christians are hampered by myths and fallacies. But the time has come for Christians to let them go and grow in spiritual wisdom.

You can't. The NT contains a significant amount of deliberate forgery, only 7 (possibly only 6) of the works of Paul in the Nt are considered to be genuine and they have signs of later editing and interpolation. There are numerous other NT works which are considered by scholarly consensus to be fabrications such as 2 Peter. The gospels and acts are anonymous, written decades after the alleged events and their content is considered by many scholars to be theological allegory and parable rather than any kind of historical account, never meant to be taken literally. The gospels, like the authentic epistles have considerable signs of interpolation and editing.

THE JEWS HAD ONE OTHER THING THEY WERE GOING TO HAVE TO DO THAT THEY NEVER DID BEFORE, WHICH WAS SHARE JESUS WITH GENTILES. FROM CORNELIUS THEN APOSTLE PAUL WHO WAS ALMOST ALL GENTILE. Can we talk about the Apostle Paul a little more, since he wrote somewhere I think around 25% of the New Testament: How do we know from third party (Non Biblical descriptions) of his real existence, or any of the things he is rumored to have said and did outside the bible?
@khill4053 Says:
And the ones who don't believe just because they purely arbitrarily and subjectively don't like what the claims are and have no contradictory evidence at all, which is most anti-Christians, are not biased at all, NAH!

@Peter-wl3tm Says:
Being bias doesn’t mean you tampered with the truth. It’s nonsense to assume that because someone has a bias, therefore, they can’t be trusted. Some of our greatest sources of the holocaust comes from Jews, some of our greatest sources of the mistreatment of African-American in regards to slavery comes from Black people, should we conclude they were bias because they wrote about what they experienced, of course not, one needs to show how exactly the disciples were biased, even if one could prove that they had a bias, bias does not necessarily mean that they bias individuals will tamper with the truth. For example, Fredrick Douglas talked about the horrors he experienced in slavery, he might of had a bias (a strong feeling/opinion) about slavery, for example, he may strongly feel that slavery is wrong and that no one should have to ever go through that, with that being said, his bias could lead him to make sure he reports all the facts and details of slavery and show why it’s wrong.

Frank Turek has that new car smell.
@nothingbutthetruth613 Says:
It's hard to believe Frank really doesn't know how wrong he is. THERE WERE NO EYEWITNESSES. No gospel was written by anyone who saw anything. It's impossible. And there are zero historians of the time who wrote one thing. Tacitus who the questioner mentions was BORN 20 years after jesus died. How can he be evidence? Josephus was born 7 years after jesus died. He can't be evidence either. That's besides the fact that they didn't really write anything about any theology and besides the fact that the consensus is that it is a forgery what we have about jesus from Josephus. It really doesn't make any difference though since Josephus wrote long after jesus. The fact that there is zero data from anyone during or even near the life of jesus paints a really huge red flag. To answer Franks assertion that the gospels were written by Jews and they died for this, we have no idea if that is true. Nobody knows who wrote the nt and it's highly unlikely Aramaic speaking Jews wrote it in highly advanced Greek. There is nothing corroborating this information outside of the nt which would be an indication that it is NOT true, not that it is true.

Either they all had a bias for being tortured and martyred , or they had a bias for spreading the Gospel because their resurrected Lord Jesus commanded them to do so. The latter seems much more likely.
@thomasmartinscott Says:
What most people are missing is: TRUE Christianity is a RELATIONSHIP with the Risen LIVING Christ, through His Holy Spirit. He says VERY Clearly, in John 14 through 17 that "HE, the Holy Spirit, WILL TEACH you"... that's an ongoing experience. Instead of asking somebody to tell you ABOUT Christ and the TRUTH of it, get to know HIM! He IS the Truth. John 14:6 I don't care who says what about anything! When I hear________. I go to God, Personally... as can ANYONE, thanks to Jesus... and ask HIM, "Please Guide me into ALL TRUTH." And if _________. is True, He makes it very clear, and if it's False, He makes that every bit as clear. There's "Religion", and then there's the Reality of a Relationship!
@justanobodywithabeard Says:
There is no non-Christian sources about the resurrection of Jesus because if they said that Jesus rose from the dead, they are technically a Christian convert and the skeptics will say "it is bias because he is a Christian" and thus neglect the claim. - Just as Inspiringphilosophy said

Most scholars agree that Mark was the first gospel written. Our oldest manuscripts of Mark have Jesus doubting His Father on the cross (Father, why have you forsaken me?) and then it pretty much ends. The ending we have now was added years later. Of course, Luke and Matthew are inspired by Mark and John all of them with more fantasy stuff added. Nobody finds this to be odd? Jesus questions His Father’s plan for him while he’s on the cross in Mark but in Luke he freely gives up his spirit? All Christians have to say is that each Gospel has a “different perspective”. Well they can’t both be true lol.
@ByGraceThroughFaith777 Says:
The problem is most non bilievers these days think that Christians and churches only want to get your money, or political power, but when you show them what the apostles whent through, the era they lived in, and the consequences of their actions all the way until how they were killed, the light bulb goes off like Snap, they had nothing to gain in terms of money and power, and they actually died defending the faith for what they saw... If you want to try and convert a non biliever this is a gteat point Frank is making here.
@IvarsKublins Says:
The same argument is thrown also when talking which scholars says that Jesus rised from the dead historically? It's mostly christians, which is turned down right away, but if you think a minute - there is a reason why they are christians because they have researched historically, what is just true and that's all! And actually only argument against Jesus from non-christians scholars is that miracles don't happen! :D

I don’t think anything can stop these people from believing in myths.
@PP_Derrick Says:
A man never claimed to be God. Jesus only claimed to be the Christ, Son of God, Son of Man, and Man. This harmonizes with the rest of the Bible in which Jesus's Apostles says he has a God , Jesus saying he has a God and YHWH being the only one declaring himself as God alone.
@Papa-dopoulos Says:
It’s an unnecessary concession to say that bias negatively affects truth. Especially considering the apostles pretty much gave up on Christ immediately after his death. I could will myself into the strongest bias ever, believing so strongly that black licorice is good, but no matter how strongly I believe, guess what. It’s still butts. And the inverse follows.

It is a fairly well-established fact that Jesus Christ was publicly executed in Judea in the 1st Century A.D., under Pontius Pilate, by means of crucifixion, at the behest of the Jewish Sanhedrin. The non-Christian historical accounts of Flavius Josephus, Cornelius Tacitus, Lucian of Samosata, Maimonides and even the Jewish Sanhedrin corroborate the early Christian eyewitness accounts of these important historical aspects of the death of Jesus Christ. As for His resurrection, there are several lines of evidence which make for a compelling case. The late jurisprudential prodigy and international statesman Sir Lionel Luckhoo (of The Guinness Book of World Records fame for his unprecedented 245 consecutive defense murder trial acquittals) epitomized Christian enthusiasm and confidence in the strength of the case for the resurrection when he wrote, “I have spent more than 42 years as a defense trial lawyer appearing in many parts of the world and am still in active practice. I have been fortunate to secure a number of successes in jury trials and I say unequivocally the evidence for the Resurrection of Jesus Christ is so overwhelming that it compels acceptance by proof which leaves absolutely no room for doubt.” The secular community’s response to the same evidence has been predictably apathetic in accordance with their steadfast commitment to methodological naturalism. For those unfamiliar with the term, methodological naturalism is the human endeavor of explaining everything in terms of natural causes and natural causes only. If an alleged historical event defies natural explanation (e.g., a miraculous resurrection), secular scholars generally treat it with overwhelming skepticism, regardless of the evidence, no matter how favorable and compelling it may be. Such an unwavering allegiance to natural causes regardless of substantive evidence to the contrary is not conducive to an impartial (and therefore adequate) investigation of the evidence. I agree with Dr. Wernher von Braun and numerous others who still believe that forcing a popular philosophical predisposition upon the evidence hinders objectivity. Or in the words of Dr. von Braun, “To be forced to believe only one conclusion… would violate the very objectivity of science itself.” There are actually several lines of evidence for Christ’s resurrection that are hard to ignore out there.
