I have a cat as a pet - Its a very common thing have a cat as cats are a very common type of pet. It doesn't take much in the way of evidence to show that I do indeed have a cat.
I have a rare breed of cat as a pet - While not common to have a rare breed of cat we know its something that happens often enough to not be very odd. It would require a little more evidence to show I have a rare breed of cat but not by much.
I have a rare white tiger as a pet - That's a pretty out there claim as while white tigers exist having a tiger of any kind is very uncommon. I mean it does happen now and then by people who clearly aren't thinking right. But we know it is possible although the amount of evidence you would need to show the truth of your claim is not much higher.
I have an invisible fire breathing white tiger as a pet - That's a pretty extraordinary claim as to our knowledge tigers aren't invisible or fire breathing. This would require some extraordinary to support such a wild claim that doesn't match what we know about tigers.

Once someone says "I don't believe other people's stories about God, I'll only believe in God if I experience Him myself" they are transparent as air. The next logical step to that argument is "If what I experienced is something I can't explain by logic I have to admit that my experience is still unexplainable, so I can't trust my own interpretation of it."
If someone doesn't want to believe in God simply because they don't like Him, no amount of evidence will change their mind. It's the heart that is the real issue. Only surrendering to God with your heart will solve that problem.

* Can Tim support that claim with evidence? He can't.
* Well to me that means Tim can't logically treat "everything" as proving the Donut, right?
Well one of the more common responses I get when I ask people for evidence of god is they gesture around to things like "everything" and call it evidence, but at no point have I seen a theist prove a god (A) exists and (B) caused everything. Yet they'd need _both_ A and B in order for "everything" to actually be evidence of a god.

Like if a bank gets robbed in the night and someone tell you that they read that it was the bank manager then you can probably just believe them.
But if in the same scenario someone tells you that they read online that free masons used a secret wormhole into the bank you should probably not just take their word for it.
That's why Hitchens rejected the many Christian claims, they are mostly fantastic but are supported by very little evidence.

They know this. This way, they can act all high and mighty when the Christian says, “I can’t provide that much evidence.” The atheist walks away pretending they’ve given a knockout blow.
This is why I use the same tactics on them. Just apply their claim to itself. When they demand unrealistic evidence, demand they in turn provide unrealistic evidence for their beliefs.

This is nonsense. When people ask for extraordinary evidence for extraordinary claims they are not necessarily being emotional nor are they going to deny by default. This is not an honest approach to the subject. I am a Christian and I find this whole approach of pretending to know the other person's attitude and beliefs and state of mind offensive. I work in caring professions and if I took this person's attitude to my clients I would necessarily be causing havoc and pain in their lives and would correctly lose my job for that behaviour.
If a claim is extraordinary and the person asking for evidence is someone who needs evidence, then it might be wise to accept that the evidence for things like the Resurrection are less than strong.
I personally would not go anywhere NDEs as an evidence base. I think they add nothing to the discussion.

I did hear Neil deGrasse Tyson talk of a study done in a hospital that investigated NDE. They would place a sign next to patients with high risk surgeries without informing them. Of those who reported NDE looking down on themselves, none of them saw the sign. With studies like that, NDE are not the slam dunk evidence of an afterlife they are made out to be.
