Do not confuse God’s revealed will and God’s sovereign will of decree. Isaiah 46:8-12 ESV Remember this and stand firm, recall it to mind, you transgressors, remember the former things of old; for I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me, declaring the end from the beginning and from ancient times things not yet done, saying, ‘My counsel shall stand, and I will accomplish all my purpose,’calling a bird of prey from the east, the man of my counsel from a far country. I have spoken, and I will bring it to pass; I have purposed, and I will do it.

Wisdom View = "Stay On The Reservation"! However! This question touches on the Unanswerable (by mere Man) Question about "Predestination and Free Will"!

I love Frank and his work. A little disappointed on this snippet though. Not even sure where I land to be fair. But I think he ridicules the first position a bit.

I agree

Don't care about your views of what a supernatural deity wants and desires. If you're not going to produce evidence to suggest the claims you make are true I really don't care what claims you are making on behalf of a supernatural deity.

Maybe think for yourself helps?

3 months still reading bible straight for my devotions. Many unexpected and impossible things happen to my life. He will says what aspect you lack for your current situation. The revelations of the Word never stops guiding me. Although there's still a lot struggles but God never gave me a problem I can't handle on my own. Glory to God!❤

Amen!

I would say, both is correct, you’ve been given free will in a window, and at times in our life, God will give us specific direction in his perfect will. Jesus is the shepherd we are the sheep confined to a sheep pen we’ve been given the boundaries to roam within the sheep pen, and when he decides to lead us out, we follow his strict direction some may wander away along, but they still belong to the Lord.

You have free will……………………

The method is the same prescribed biblical way. But dont put God in a small box because you cannot and wont admit He is an absolute control of every step of your path.

OR, here's an idea, start using your brain to make decisions instead of an archaic book written by uneducated barbarians.

It's both, in my opinion.

Always go with the traditional view. God doesn't change.

He is power mad. He is pompous. He's a useless televangelist.
@lukebrito4279 Says:
God just sets out opportunities. It is up to us to use the Holy Spirit's guidance to take hold of those opportunities. I have seen this plenty of times in my own life. Things just literally randomly happening and it works out and keeps me on track
@emmanuel5566 Says:
Taking wisdom view doesn't negate traditional view a.k.a God's Sovereign plan down to an inch for each of His children. Taking wisdom view helps us get to that precise X point in traditional view. So it's not a dichotomy but a twin.

What are the boundaries laid out in the Bible for the job that I'm supposed to have? I get the wife example, but where am I supposed to live. Ect.

What if you date someone outside god and they come to know Jesus through you. That’s not of god? Come one now lol
@55Quirll Says:
If god has some job for me or someone to marry than I have no free will, just predestination, in which case god lied about giving us free will
@captainbc52 Says:
Proving God exists would be a good starting point, but you can't even do that
@GrassiOutdoorAdventures Says:
That seems reasonable but I feel like scripture supports God’s plan for us more. ?

The Bible isn’t GODs word. It’s human words trying to understand why we are here! I don’t like the view that GOD is more in one version of religion vs the other. We all pray for a better understand of an all important question. Why? If you limit yourself to just one source of belief. Your missing the boat! GOD is everything and GOD is nothing. All at the same time! If this is to be true then what human has the right to judge or tell another human being how to live! Knowing GOD is a personal journey and all you have to do is look DEEP inside yourself and enjoy the ride! We shy from the uncomfortable truth that GOD may not exist! The truth is we ultimately don’t know what happens when we leave. We don’t know why we were born! We will never find these answers if your always on your knees praying to a GOD you can’t see. Get out into the world and meet all of creation and then determine what GOD is to you. Stop being deceived into believing you go to hell if you do t believe and act a certain way. This is false prophecy

@VYMQGSOH Says:
The few times God intervenes Himself through anyone or anything, is how he gets us to do exactly what He planned all along. Therfore to us it may appear as an option, chance, possibility, when actually it's all going precisely the way God planned, wanted and expected everything to happen the way it does. He did plan everything precisely, he just only takes action in ways where he won't be the one to blame for the sinful aspects and the problems, yet He still wanted everyone to do what they do because it gives God more to work with to glorify himself without having to force us like robots and yet not have to cause problems himself and get us to do it instead so he can only appear as the savior and God guy in the end.

So theres this girl I have fallen deeply for and shes a sweet Christian girl BUT. She is dating a freakin' athiest. And I really want to be with her even now as I'n trying to stop liking her I can't stop feeling a slight living hope potentially her seeing that I'm a God fearing, loving man, whom would love her deeply with the love of Christ. What should I do? I've prayed to God talked with a pastor, friends, family! Nothing. I feel hope for it but I want to quit. Do I endure and pray and continue to give her verses from God about being unequally yoked?? What do I do! I just want a wife man. But at this point I'd rather be celibate but I can't shake the feelings I have for her. What makes it worse is I know I do really love her because the worst thing I'd want to do to her is hold her hand and look into her eyes! I want to so badly read the word with her and pray with her, spread the gospel with her, talk about the one Living True God with her and talk about his mercy and grace! What do I do??? Come on someone has the freaking answer!
@geirstolen6259 Says:
God handpicked Isak's wife. It is possible he will do it for you too. He did it for me. I surrendered my way to him and kept waiting and praying. It was interesting, every time I met someone I liked, I asked him and he let me know, no. The direction was always no. If I pursued it, it became very uneasy. So I learned to listen. At 28, a friend of mine in a different country had a revelation . And a year later I married the one God had picked out for me, just like Isak.
@EdmondDantes1844-i6q Says:
How about the idea of leaving imaginary friends out of your decision making process entirely?
@factenter6787 Says:
Discernment is required for more than merely ensuring that you, as a believer, are marrying one. Is she a baby believer? Does he carry a lot of baggage from past addictions, trauma, etc.? Are your visions in the Lord radically different? Better think twice and pray it through before going to the altar.
@proverbs2522 Says:
Only if you are an important part of His plan will God provide you with a destiny. Even then it is your decision to accept it.
@SojournerDidimus Says:
I think those are not mutually exclusive. God can foreknow whom I shall marry, yet He ordains me to do so if I abide in His wisdom.
@Koz6336 Says:
Because everybody is wrong but you Frank, you have all the right answers, right? Of course that has to be right because you wouldn't take the chance of misleading people and risking the eternal soul of all those being convinced by the things you say, would you?
@Crazychickenlady448 Says:
It makes a LOT of sense and I agree, but dang, that's not convenient because I can't decide! Aaarrrrrggghhh. 😅❤
@ELCHDA Says:
The Bible does not address post industrial capitalist society. Become a wageslave for an evil corporation or starve. Wisdom says the only way to stop sinning is suicide yet that is also a sin leaving us stuck. We cant exterminate our enslavers either, the new testament indirectly promoted slavery because the only solution to slavery is extreme violence. Modern wage slaves must do evil work for their masters and it drives me nuts.
