Then how did morals exist before religion? I mean the entirety of the 10 commandments can be found in the Egyptian Book of the Dead dated roughly 1100 years prior to the story of Moses. Morality comes from Society and evolves as society evolves. Not from a god. If god made morality it wouldnt evovle.

The rules of football are devinely inspired. Football apologists have been studying them for centuries. (Most rules are about praising the rule makers) Unfortunately, over the centuries, football has known many reformations. Wars were fought over the correct interpretation of the rules. For example, how does one get a drink from the rule makers after the game? Some say it depends on how well you played, but i believe its all grace. Its very important to believe in football though, dont fall for false sports like volleyball, tennis or even spreedskating.

No way men give us morality

We see in todays society where man has abandoned God for his own morality that chaos ramps up. No objective source of morality= enjoy your subjective mindsets as society crumbles, everyone doing what is right in their own eyes!

Ironically, the rules of sports evolve to solve problems that emerge from how a sport is played.

You cannot get morals from an immoral God , any God that threatens a place called Hell , is in no position to state a moral code

Just saw yet another post on "Atheist Experience" where they misunderstand this basic point. I genuinely can't tell if it's willful ignorance or if they genuinely don't understand the issue.

Romans 2:12-16 says, _"For all who have sinned without the law will also perish without the law, and all who have sinned under the law will be judged by the law. For it is not the hearers of the law who are righteous before God, but the doers of the law who will be justified. For when Gentiles, who do not have the law, by nature do what the law requires, they are a law to themselves, even though they do not have the law. They show that _*_the work of the law is written on their hearts, while their conscience also bears witness,_*_ and their conflicting thoughts accuse or even excuse them on that day when, according to my gospel, God judges the secrets of men by Christ Jesus."_

If you need a "god" to tell you that things like murder and rape are wrong than you aren't a moral person, you are merely a psychopath on a leash. Unfortunately the people who wrote the bible endorsed both of those things. Its a fact that christians commit violent crimes at a higher rate than atheists, I wonder why 🤔
@SydneyBell-eh6je Says:
Actual morality doesn't come from any gods or religions, but rather comes from being aware of your actions and how they affect others. Christianity is not a moral religion at all, it's appealing to immoral people because it teaches them that as long as they believe in Jesus they never have to be accountable for their own actions. In christianity, a *serial killer* who "comes to Jesus" gets *heaven* and the serial killer's *innocent victims* get *hell* if they had different religious beliefs

If there is a non-aggressive, good faith atheist reading this, I've never gotten to ask or hear the explanation behind the flaws in the objective morality argument. Maybe explain succinctly and politely?

@ChipArgyle Says:
Great! How do you explain the morality found in every other religion that worships a different god? Are Jews and Muslims amoral or immoral because they worship a different version of the Abrahamic god (they do, it's all in the treatment of the Jesus character which necessarily makes them different gods).

When we were born, we’re born in sin. So we’re marred in our morals. Only God through Christ can change our position from Dead to Life.

TRUTH! Imagine a game where the football players decided the rules while they're playing the game! It would be chaos everywhere! Imagine if our world....oh, nevermind...

Our morals definitely did not come from a deity. If people actually followed the "morals" of the bible, they would be in prison
@criticalthinker2477 Says:
I'm pretty sure that we humans consider not killing babies for fun is about as close to an objective moral as you can get. So its interesting that your god who you say is the standard of objective morality actually condones this practice: Psalm 137:9 NASB "How blessed will be the one who seizes and dashes your little ones Against the rock." I'm sure christians will figure out a way to rationalize it, but by doing so you are using your mind and reason to filter the bible and make the determination of what truly is moral. Our mind and culture are the sources of morality, not the bible.
@aaronmonroe7932 Says:
Why should we even have to think or debate this? God should had made it compelling without a shadow of a doubt.

The moral argument is one of the weakest arguments for the existence of god. I find it hard to believe that Frank still presents it. Then again, he presents it in a straw man fashion, which is the only way to make it appear even remotely plausible.

God. The bar for man’s standards are ever being lowered to excuse and justify their own appetites and desires while also being able to call themselves good. Man’s morality is ultimately self serving and iniquitous.
