People need to first see the difference between biological gender (sex) and psychological gender. The analogy between Trans and anorexia is a bad analogy. Trans people don't look at their body and deny they have a penis or vagina and breast (otherwise many would not seek to have a sex change). Anorexic people look at themselves and literally see that they are overweight even when they are emaciated. The reality is that people who think or feel themselves to be female (properly psychologically feminine as a social construct in that particular society) are not necessarily having mental problems to the degree of being classified as a mental disorder like the anorexic.
The real problem is that society (based primarily on strict unrealistic religious dogma about these people) have made no room for them in society and treat like crap starting with calling them 'mental' or 'perverted' etc. Their religious beliefs don't allow for the biology or the mental aspect of identity not matching the body/mind relationship without some affront to their precious god having messed up in creation. So they fight tooth and nail to deny and label this as some sort out-of-wack person that needs help. When in reality if the society would allow for such mismatch in mind/body gender identity they would not be seeking to conform their bodies to their minds. They feel feminine (the standard set by the society) but their bodies don't match according to the society. As a society we should be ok with rare mind/body mismatches as that is, on a naturalist view, perfectly allowable. As such they would feel ok having a male body but being mentally more feminine and leave it at that. It's the fact that religious nutters can't deal with nature's reality and seek to shame them that is the problem. Instead, the religious retreat to their own mental issues about some ideal creation that they never can prove and in which reality tells them is different. So, they make up stories like 'The Fall' to explain all the death, suffering, disease, and pain this REAL world is constantly telling them is THE REALITY.

If a "transgender" person who had the bottom surgery, lets say a man who had his privates rearranged, comes to Jesus should they be looking for a marriage with a woman or a man? If they don't want to commit homosexuality then they'd have to be with a woman right? But for the woman is it homosexual or heterosexual? Seems like if it's heterosexual technically then people with homosexual tendencies could be with former "transgender" people and still be right with god? I know this isn't an easy answer but I think it is an important one to consider if we hope to help these people.

There is no such a thing as 'transitioning' in human biology. 'Transitioning' means to go through changes that are an intrinsic or integral to the biological entity because of information within the entity’s genetic code. Humans who cut off body parts and sew others on while ingesting chemicals are mutilating themselves and are involved in submitting to external applications which are engineered. There is no 'transition' here, there is only ‘engineering’ so please stop legitimizing this evil concept by using terms that have no validity.

For Christians, I would cite the words that Jesus is quoted to have said in each of the four Gospels. He was pretty consistently concerned primarily about helping the poor and sins of omission than about people judging others for things like this. That's not to say that I don't agree with some of the concerns about transgender ideology, but I think those concerns should be based on biology and society, not religion.
