Isn't Father Carlos Martin in the Exorcist Files podcast. I heard a couple of the cases they have in there and they did a great job haven't the listener visualize every bit of the case.

Oh it was all about deception all right. I saw the trailer, and it looked like it was going to be a psychological thriller with paranormal themes. What I got was a 2-hour live-action chick-tract. This was the most mind-numbingly boring waste of time I have ever spent. And I gave it a chance. I really, honestly did. And I want to make it clear. If you want to make a Christian thriller, that's fine. But don't lie to us horror fans with deceptive trailers and waste our time.

My wife and I just finished this movie. I am a follower of Christ but she is not. We both thought it was a riveting film. In my opinion, the portrayal of demonic possession and the theology present in the film were pretty much spot on as well.

The point of the movie is that Satan, while being the enemy, has conditioned us slowly, over time to be the real enemy. He has made our greatest enemy...ourselves.
"Evil is evil even if everyone does it. Good is good, even if no one does it."
That is what the demons have done to humanity. Made us convince ourselves that simply because everyone is doing it, that it's good. He's conditioned us to not even recognize evil.

Lord of the Rings is a Christian movie: The Fellowship leaves on Christmas and the Ring is destroyed on easter. The story is full of Christian themes and messages, the hope against hope that good will intervene, even though evil is so concrete and present.

I believe that Tolkien even wrote somewhere that neither Frodo alone nor Gollum nor the both together, could be rid of the ring, nor have the strength to destroy it ultimately. But they got the ring there, and it was mercy, the will of God, that it was destroyed. And a mercy too that Gollum's hateful life was ended, and that he too found peace from the torment he had endured in life.
So a story can be Christian and be beloved by millions. I think Nefarious is one of those stories and its Christian themes no more over.
