It is not just allowed its is a necessity to maintaining a society that is of the lord, because of the will of the people to undermine the lord as we have seen in the Bible when it comes to sodom and Gomorrah there wasn't a single ounce of justice throughout the entirety of the city and not one single indavidual was found to be righteous, and the punishment for the entirety of thay city was capital punishment. The greatest form of punishment is death for what is after death is much greater a punishment for those who seek to disobey the lord than anything they can endure on earth, to finally face the lord. Death penalty is a must if we are not to repeat the same as sodom and Gomorrah. These people need to be removed quickly and effectively from society, the Americans before use understood this and so did many before that the idea of wasting tax dollars to allow someone to live that has clearly done something that is deserving of death is insanity and will only lead us to the inevitable collapse of our entire country.

As a Christian and my gf actually goes to a church were the pastor had a big part in sponsoring Charlie’s business i think about it like this (im not comparing dogs to humans jst human actions) when we put down a dog we dont put it down bc its a bad dog we put it down bc we dont trust that it wont hurt more ppl so by loosing a life we are potentially saving other its like punting on 4th down you dont wanna give the other team the ball but you also dont wanna risk giving up free points its a safe move to put someone to the death penalty instead of letting them live and potentially k****ing more ppl and if you say jst give them life in prison that’s way worse and most definitely torture imagine if instead of putting dogs down we just put them in a cage forever

I think the only time that capital punishment was before Jesus directly was when the adulterous woman was about to be lawfully stoned to death because of her sin and Jesus STOPPED it from happening saying whoever is without sin (doesn't deserve the same thing) cast the first stone.

I don't care if the death penalty is in the bible or not. It is a barbaric remnant of the past and no society which calls itself civilized should ever practice it.

Frank, on the one hand you quote Romans 13 which wasn't actually an instruction to government but citizens to submit to governments, nevertheless, judgement for doing wrong, and then on the other hand you say that Pilate had a right to kill Jesus who was innocent. When speaking to anyone in authority, Paul pleads for forgiveness. In Romans 13 when Paul does say that the governments don't carry the sword for no reason, again, it wasn't an instruction that every authority MUST apply it. Nevertheless, he then goes on to say that we should not lie, steal, covet, commit adultery or murder. Do you believe all of these deserve the capital punishment since Paul mentions them in this same passage? Clearly the Holy Spirit believed so and executed that punishment on Ananias and Sapphira. When Jesus had authority to execute the capital punishment on the women caught in adultery, He chose not to, even though he said "let him who is without sin cast the first stone". Strangely enough, He was the only one who fit the description and yet opted for forgiveness. When Paul could have instructed for this, he pleads on behalf of Onesimus and the man who was committing adultery with his stepmother (after he had repented). Yes, authorities do have a right to capital punishment but, from God's perspective, only if they are without sin should they execute it. Otherwise, as in the words of Paul, we are to leave room for God's wrath. No?
@justmystuff628 Says:
All life is sacred in the eyes of God and deserve the right to repent. If you support capital punishment, you're supporting satans power in this world, and turn away from God. Jesus is Lord, God and Saviour.
@stiigern Says:
You are confusing capital punishment and revenge. Modern executions is revenge killing more than anything. Jesus does not teach us to do this. He teaches to forgive our enemies and those who hurt us.

Bible says to give the other side after a slap in a face, maybe it says women been raped to give another hole to her raper? Talion’s law is more justice than other, time of crusaders is done, Bible has essentially made victims-looking and leftists is western countries

@meetch3898 Says:
How can someone repent and change if their life is taken, life imprisonment yes, i don't think there's a human that walks this earth that is worthy of making that decision to end a life.
@gamefan8552 Says:
It may have been that before it made sense to impose it, however today there are more effective systems of detention have been developed, which ensure the due protection of citizens but, at the same time, do not definitively deprive the guilty of the possibility of redemption. Also, it is important to note that imposing the death penalty leads society toward seeking revenge rather than justice, takes away all possibility of rehabilitation for the offender (which we know God never takes away on anyone while on Earth), can lead toward mistakes which can never again be corrected and ultimately has not proven to serve as deterrent of crime. The most powerful weapon we have to combat crime and evil is precisely living according to the Gospel of Jesus (aided by God's grace), because if man does not change their hearts everything else done will be of little use.
@Thundawich Says:
If governments derive their authority from God, doesn't that put God at fault for all the bad things various governments have done throughout the years? I mean he put them in charge, he even knew what they would do prior to putting them in charge, so how does God not take the blame for their actions?
@edgarmorales4476 Says:
Punishment is actually not a very effective teacher! It may teach people not to do something, but at a great cause to their spiritual progress and ability to Unconditionally Love themselves - to Unconditionally Love life and to Unconditionally Love others, which is the ultimate lesson. People who "punish" are full of shame, anger and resentment - and that is the hell people must learn to release themselves. Punishment leads to further sinful entrenchment and misery, it is ultimately counterproductive to spiritual progress. Punishment is the way Satan remedies crimes and mistakes, and Christians have yet to recognize its ineffectiveness. Punishment perpetuates pain and negativity, and does not heal - all crimes, mistakes and suffering are caused by Satan. So the solution is not to entrench people further into their sin by "punishing" them, but to give them what might help them see that they are not sinners. Unconditional Love is what heals and brings people out of sin, nothing else. Unconditional Love, acceptance, kindness, compassion and attention are the balms that heal.
@mannyfabin1850 Says:
People seem to come with the "what about the innocent few" as a means to excuse the death penalty. I don't agree. When you have proof of murders by unremorseful sadistic killers, who are proven to have killed then just staying in jail at tax payers expense is a waste. We have those in prison in the UK, who have willfully and some cases gleefully killed vulnerable people. Not just killed but butchered (Lee Rigby, Soham murders). Be careful what you wish for.
@repelsteeltje310 Says:
A brutal death penalty is stoning The Bible says it's okay to stoned people for murder , adultery, blasphemy, non believers, other religious, non virgin brides.....
@shivadizayin Says:
But we killed Christ by crucifying an innocent Man. Doesn’t that mean the entire human race should be executed?

I think the fact that our justice system think it couldn’t properly utilize capital punishment speaks loudly of it own corruption.
@Pak_Flesot Says:
Bad people usually are the ones who dont get punished. They have had a lifetime to perfect whatever evil craft they use on others. They know all the loopholes of how exactly to get away with those things. Otherwise those people would stop, because justice prevails. And good people are the ones who get punished. My personal experience proves to me that the innocent are usually the ones who get punished when they stand up for themselves. They are not good at guiding through those loopholes, cause they dont know how to navigate the minefield of being near a nasty person. So when they do defend themselves.. they get punished. No need to tell me about we are all guilty and we are all sinners.. i know. My point is the people who actively go out and try to hurt others.

@guidos.6043 Says:
If you do a search in the Scriptures, there is a certain phrase over and over again: “Let everything be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses”. One is never enough. Also, the concepts of “unjust weights” being an abomination. And bad leadership having a much greater punishment. As well, the concept of cross examination is from the Bible. Personally, I think a “safety” against fatally punishing the innocent by accident should include two “musts”: 1) the suspect should already be known to law enforcement, AND 2) be caught red-handed doing the crime. We need to protect the witnesses from the criminal when his/her term is up, and/or their accomplices. If our nation were truly Christian, we would already be living by these standards.
@eddiericks6554 Says:
I would say that innocent people do get killed by mistake yet I would still support capital punishment because 98% of the time people in our jail committed the crime and the 2% probably have also committed crime 😂. How many times did a drug dealer say it was my 1st time after years of getting away with it but I really don’t know how many innocent people are behind bars but they get millions of dollars sometimes I glad with modern technology the police 👮🏽‍♂️ usually put the right people in jail 😊
@crazando Says:
Romans 13 is not an argument for government now but against it. It limits the government with terms like rewarding good and punishing evil

Please help me understand. Where in the Bible does it say we are made in the image of God? Reading comprension is key to understanding the Bibe. God made Adam in the image of Himself. Then He made Eve out of Adam's rib. And as anyone knows, a copy of a copy is not the same. I digress. But anyways, Adam in the garden of Eden was in his perfect adult form, meaning he was created a fully formed adult and he didn't age because he ate from the tree of life. I submit that Adam inside the garden was a very different type of person, than he was when he was tossed out of the garden of Eden. And we are all children of the "tossed out of Eden" Adam and Eve, or rather children of Noah's family. Based on this summation, we cannot be made in the image of God, for only Adam was, and possibly Eve. People flee from the Bible for many reasons. But one of those reasons is because they see an inbred 600 pound bucktooth type person and they think the Bible must be a lie because that's definitely not the image of God. Devil's advocate could say "Well, humans are essentially an amalgamation of mind, body, and soul" which is what God is. I.E. God-Mind, Jesus-Body, Holy Spirit-Soul. That could work i suppose. But am I right about my initial summation? Please help me understand where in the Bible other than Genises God says He made us in His image? Peace

Pilate isn’t the reason we have a sacrificial savior. God would have carried out His plan with or without Pilate.
@profesorXa Says:
Didn't Jesus also said to obey 10 comandments, where it is written you shall not kill. He also said that people will be judgled like they judge others. I see no flow to justify killing someone else.
@wolvadora9049 Says:
When I grew up my mother told me that she wouldn't love me anymore if I killed anybody. Even the love of parents has limits, but the love of Christ is not of below but from above, so even a murderer can find salvation in Him. St. Paul writes: Dear friends, never take revenge. Leave that to the righteous anger of God. For the Scriptures say, “I will take revenge; I will pay them back,” says the Lord." And Christ says: “If you forgive those who sin against you, your heavenly Father will forgive you." Of cause a goverment has to punish evildoers but the more Christian a goverment become the more chance it should give to repent. Christ have mercy!

When a malignant polyp is removed, there's a small bit of healthy tissue around it that is also removed. The purpose is to ensure ALL the malignancy is gone, protecting the vast, vast majority of the body. True justice has benefits that far outweigh the costs. It's when healthy tissue is removed, but the malignancy is allowed to grow that we should be concerned.

I disagree here with Frank. I could just picture Jesus walking up to the fire squad about to shoot and say "He that is without sin among you, let him first shoot at him.. "

Sure Frank, let's pretend that we know what any conversation that may have happened between Jesus of Nazareth and Pontius Pilate actually consisted of.

Technically if a Christian is aware of ANYONE in the vicinity who is worshiping another god, they are to KILL that person. "He that sacrificeth unto any god, save unto the LORD only, he shall be utterly destroyed." Exodus 22:20. So you guys are editing your own scriptures when you don't. But you want to call Islam barbaric.

@96tolife Says:
The Bible is clear. “Whoever sheds human blood, by humans shall their blood be shed; for in the image of God has God made mankind (Genesis 9:6)." Furthermore, God never made a provision for prison. It punishes innocent people twice. Once when the crime is committed. The second way is by forcing the public to pay to house the criminal to keep them safe.
