This movement hurt me and my kids!! :( Countering Word of Faith teaching is a simple matter of reading the Bible. God alone is the Sovereign Creator of the Universe (Genesis 1:3; 1 Timothy 6:15) and does not need faith—He is the object of faith (Mark 11:22; Hebrews 11:3). God is spirit and does not have a physical body (John 4:24). Man was created in the image of God (Genesis 1:26, 27; 9:6), but this does not make him a little god or divine. Only God has a divine nature (Galatians 4:8; Isaiah 1:6-11, 43:10, 44:6; Ezekiel 28:2; Psalm 8:6-8). Christ is Eternal, the Only Begotten Son, and the only incarnation of God (John 1:1, 2, 14, 15, 18; 3:16; 1 John 4:1). In Him dwelt the fullness of the Godhead bodily (Colossians 2:9). By becoming a man, Jesus gave up the glory of heaven but not His divinity (Philippians 2:6-7), though He did choose to withhold His power while walking the earth as man. The Word of Faith movement is deceiving countless people, causing them to grasp after a way of life and faith that is not biblical. At its core is the same lie Satan has been telling since the Garden: “You shall be as God” (Genesis 3:5). Sadly, those who buy into the Word of Faith movement are still listening to him. Our hope is in the Lord, not in our own words, not even in our own faith (Psalm 33:20-22). Our faith comes from God in the first place (Ephesians 2:8; Hebrews 12:2) and is not something we create for ourselves. So, be wary of the Word of Faith movement and any church that aligns itself with Word of Faith teachings. (Got Questions dot org)

So good! AMEN. Those of us who left can understand and agree!

God always heals and if he doesn't YOU don't have enough faith. Versus the Bible 2 Tim 4:20 Erastus remained at Corinth, and I left Trophimus, who was ill, at Miletus. ( Why didn't Paul of all people- simply heal him??)

Word of faith/prosperity message is a cult. It’s a false teaching, and the people who are in. It are in the perfect position to be conned. Don’t feel sorry for them. They defend that false teaching even if you show them how false it is even if you show them that has nothing to do with the scriptures they don’t care you immediately become the enemy. It’s the perfect con. Because the people want to believe it. And they believe it because it promises them number one power. It says you are a little God, it says you can speak things into existence as God spoke to the universe into existence. It says that all you have to do is thick or will something to happen and it will happen. It says that prophecy is not God speaking to man about something in the now or in the future through his spirit, it’s his prophecy is when you speak something for to make it happen. And then there’s the promise of wealth. And it’s not just money. It’s material possessions. These guys show off their airplanes their cars they show off their clothes. Thousand dollar suits 5000 sorry thousand dollar shoes $5000 suits. This is real. this is real. These guys have everything Taylor made they’re arrogant. They’re rude to people. They’re absolutely full of themselves. They’re nothing like Jesus Christ. But don’t lose heart because there are people who respond to the Lord Jesus Christ there are people who love him and follow him. And there are people who are blessed by him. I’ve seen so many great miracles happen so many prayers answered, and I know this loving God. But I have to tell you these people in word of faith. They actually want to be lied to and manipulated by their greedy leaders. So you’re up against something that you may never have seen before in your life a con where the person being conned actually wants it to happen.

I have experienced both recently after posting a video with someone's testimony leaving the WOF. Got some pushback, but no videos, articles, books, scriptures, or anything tangible to correct me with. Just "you're wrong because I said so" kinda things. Or "nobody teaches that," while literally having videos up RIGHT NOW of them personally teaching it. If they know what they teach is true, and have a sincere motive for teaching it, then why deny teaching it? Weird...🤦🏾‍♀️😂
@augustopanama8905 Says:
I have seen this first hand many times unfortunately in predominantly black congregations!
@DiannaLillard Says:
You are correct, however I find it funny that the people who call out WOF don't see a problem with OSAS, and or Calvinism..

Strange interpretation or revelation from the Holy Spirit? Plain reading? You cannot "plain read" the Bible. It has many layers of revelation in every sentence. One verse can mean many things. Jesus was considered to have a strange interpretation of the law from the Pharisees, but he is the great I AM. Can't rely on a teacher but only the Holy Spirit is the one who reveals all truth. I once used to feel this way until my eyes were opened by the Holy Spirit and finally see the scripture through a lense that came from a revelation of receiving God's Love. Scriptures that I read "plainly" and I thought I had understanding on were giving me a fresh revelation of what it really meant and WOW was I wrong on many things. Lesson learned: You can read scripture and think you have understanding but you never will until the Holy Spirit gives it to you❤ 1 Corinthians 2:7-16 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the ages for our glory, which none of the rulers of this age knew; for had they known, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. But as it is written: "Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him." But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God. These things we also speak, not in words which man's wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one. For "who has known the mind of the LORD that he may instruct Him?" But we have the mind of Christ.

You have pretty brown eyes and I like the curls in your hair. Just wanted to compliment those things. I also like how you stand against this word of faith movement. You have some good videos.
@melodieswithmorgan Says:
This is true! I was part of a word of faith church for one year and experienced exactly what you talk about here. The thing that will untangle their twisted teaching is reading the Bible for yourself and trusting that your plain interpretation of the Bible is accurate. It is impossible to draw the same conclusions about the scriptures that the teachers of the word of faith movement conclude. Their teaching is based on the idea of combining New Thought science with the Bible. This, in turn, turns a person’s pure relationship with God into a manifestation game to “speak” whatever you’re believing for into existence, (“In Jesus name, I will have healing, wealth, etc”). The practice of manifestation is actually demonic and something used quite commonly in witchcraft. God designed for us to know Him and walk closely with Him, to take up our cross and follow Him, to learn His mercy and comfort in our suffering, and to worship Him with reverence and awe - not to claim good circumstances by repeatedly saying “Faith based” declarations. Back to the topic of twisted scripture, though… it is interesting that Paul commended the Bereans for “examining the scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true.” Acts 17. It says they were of “more noble character than those in Thessalonica” because of their detailed scrutiny of Paul’s teaching to what they read in the word of God. So interesting! In all of my time at the word of faith church, I was never encouraged to go back to the scripture to gain my grounding or see if what they said was true. It was actually the foundation of scripture that they attacked. I really care for people who are deceived in this teaching, because if your foundation is deceived, you don’t know where to go from there to find the truth. Word of faith teachers really don’t mind saying that “everything you’ve learned about ____ passage of scripture is false, and here’s the elevated and enlightened understanding of it.” It’s exciting at first to hear such robust claims on a passage of scripture where you never saw such a conclusion before. But eventually, over time, a person will lose trust in their own common sense that God meant for us to use while reading the scriptures. BE CAREFUL! They are false teachers.

Melissa, are you by any chance any relation to word of faith preacher...uh, pusher Billy Joe Daugherty? If so, I applaud you for standing up to him and those of his ilk.
@Appeal2HeavenOC Says:
How is that not true though? “If you think positive, positive will happen if you think negative, negative will happen” if you sit there and ruminate you aren’t focused on God and guess what bad things will likely occur as you get more negative 🤔

@southerncross4956 Says:
God is reasonable and logical and so is His word. Work with what can understand in and about the word of God and the things you can not, set them aside for now. Remember God wants to walk and talk with you, Jesus did the work to make that walk possible so relax and ask to go for a walk with Him, talking and lessoning. You both will enjoy it.

She hit the nail right on the head. Thats EXACTLY what WLC and Hugh Ross do with Genesis 1-11. There's an old adage that says "if you torture the data long enough it'll confess to anything"

If you have become one with the Holy Spirit through jesis this then you don't have to worry about these people gaslating you because the Holy Spirit will guide you.

Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's. clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Gaslating means there are false profit.

This is the natural outcome of Sola Scriptura. If we truly held the Scriptures so high we wouldn’t want the “freedom” to misinterpret and teach falsehoods.

Logic vs Faith - shouldn't be that way, but it is.

1 Timothy 2:11-15 11 A woman[a] should learn in quietness and full submission. 12 I do not permit a woman to teach or to assume authority over a man;[b] she must be quiet. 13 For Adam was formed first, then Eve. 14 And Adam was not the one deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and became a sinner. 15 But women[c] will be saved through childbearing—if they continue in faith, love and holiness with propriety. Quiet down sweat heart and get back to pumping out the kiddos!
