Cessationist vs. Continuationist: Do Miracles Still Happen Today?

Cessationist vs. Continuationist: Do Miracles Still Happen Today?

????

Have you ever witnessed a miracle? Many of us haven't, but miraculous events are documented throughout the Bible and, occasionally, even in modern times. In this video, Frank gives some insight into why miracles are rarely seen today and why he believes the sign gifts performed through the Apostles have ceased. ???? ???????????????????????????????????????????? ???????????????????????????????????? Frank, there may be “partial preterists”, but there are no “partial cessationists”. As a cessationist, you don’t believe anyone today has “gifts of healing”—according to 1 Cor. 13—then that’s fine. However, you cannot believe according to that same passage that people legitimately speak in tongues today by the HOLY SPIRIT but cannot today heal others by the same SPIRIT. Just so we’re clear, Cessationism is a demonic false doctrine; however, you can’t be a “partial cessationist”. You’re either a cessationist or you’re not—so which is it???
@jeffreyosberg3117 Says:
I thought I liked this video at first, But after watching it through it seems like he was contradicting himself. At one point he said that he does not believe anyone is healing like the apostles were because if that was the case they would be emptying hospitals. But then he said toward the end of the video that God can heal through someone in a different country, like a missionary, if they were getting the gospel out. If it's happening more in other countries, than why can't we go get rid of all the extreme illnesses happening in places like Ethopia or other third world countries. And if God was still working in the same way in other countries, then why don't we see them raising people from the dead, causing them to go from being born not to walk and made to walk, like in Acts 2, and causing people to go from completely blind to seeing. Do I believe God can still heal? Yes. Through prayer not by using someone like the apostles, because they did the miracles to show that they were truly representing God, because there were many false teachers during their time. Jesus delegated this power to the apostles to show that they weren't one of the false teachers, to show that their message was truly from God. You can see this in Matthew 10:1 which says that "Jesus summoned His twelve disciples and gave them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal every kind of disease and every kind of sickness."

the problem is we don't have the same faith as Paul did, if we did we would be able to move mountains. The gifts never stopped our belief has just diminished
@JohnMChew Says:
Convenient. You don't have to push through to overcome spiritual resistance. You don't have to fast and pray. It's "easy believism". You don't have to fast and pray regularly to build up their own faith.
@Anthony-ix3rp Says:
Jesus did miracles and sometimes He refused to do them. He could have healed every sick person but didn't. He was selective.  Can u have the gift of discernment today ?
@michaelhalpert5518 Says:
Frank is on the right track but he’s not being consistent. If one of the sign gifts like the gift of healing no longer exists then none of them do so speaking of tongues wouldn’t happen in Africa either. I believe in 1918 the Pentecostal church sent 18 missionaries to Africa believing that once they arrived there they would be able to speak in tongues and once they returned they all reported that they could not. It was after that they changed their beliefs in tongues being actual know languages into unknown “heavenly” languages that are babbling. Instead of just accepting they were wrong they twisted scripture.
@KingdomFreedomMinistries Says:
Frank is absolutely wrong (and I RARELY say that). The scriptures talk so much about things like -asking in the name of Jesus *AND RECEIVING* -Jesus says in my name *YOU WILL DO GREATER WORKS THAN ME* -& in Mark 16 Jesus says *YOU SHALL LAY HANDS ON THE SICK AND THEY SHALL RECOVER* Bro I've witnessed healings upon healings, I've witnessed Deliverances, I've witnessed the prophetic, & I legitimately met God in a out of body experiences! The reason people don't see these things is simple (((LACK OF FAITH))) & trust me, saying "I believe" isn't faith! But Faith is actually found in stepping out your comfort zone and putting Christ first. Most healings I've encountered were spontaneous, okay let me embarrass myself if I have to, in order to magnify Christ moments! Trust me, it's all very much REAL!
@DonaldPeter-f8x Says:
Sir ! How I proof this with Biblical to whom do believe it's still exists...pls make me understand because 1 off friend who say if you have a faith it happens but totally disagree but how make him understand?

In Charismatic churches… they “decree” and “declare” and “rebuke” … in every service, every weekend, for the last century… and there’s still just as many sick, poor, and struggling people in the pues of charismatic churches as there are in Reformed churches. Get a clue…

@hyper-lethal-sigma3 Says:
My own definition of a miracle is 'something that seems impossible yet happens Anyway' and from that stance I see miracles happen all the time and can say I've been blessed many times with miracles
@samuellundin5328 Says:
Frank, You have a wrong view of the Apostolic gifts. You seem to believe that the Apostles had power to heal at will. Even Jesus did not heal everyone or heal at will.The Apostles did not empty the hospitals in their days. PAUL could not heal Trophimus and Timothy, healing and miracles have always occurred as a response to faith in alignment to God's providence at that moment for his glory. In other words we never command them at our will. That is why even prophets in OT enquired when there was a case before them.
@777Witness Says:
Brothers and sisters. Please pray for me. For about 15 years I have been struggling with debilitating sickness that's made my life unberable. I am in my mid 30s and would love to still have strength to serve my Savior and Lord. Jesus is my Healer. Thank you all 🙏🏻 Please also pray that God grants me strength to go through this valley with humility and thankfulness.
@hudsondonnell444 Says:
God will not grant a braying donkey of a "minister" to see real miracles happen on TV or in front of a crowd. The faith healers of today puff themselves up with arrogant pride and perform tricks and elusions for their own vain glory.
@sebastiansingh5167 Says:
Greatest miracle is having faith in Christ turning a heart from stone towards him being forgiven of sins and rejection of this world
@ayannaleebalewis Says:
When your church doesn't operate in the power of God, this will be your response. I've witnessed many people who were demon possessed be cast out, I know many persons who were healed from Epilepsy, Cancer, a foot grew to the length of the other and so on. What about Benny Hinn and Kathryn Khulman and Apostle Kathryn Krick. I am a Covenant partner with a church in my country where the Healing, deliverance, prophetic utterances are a norm. It is an Apostolic church with all five ministries, all appointed by Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit. The Acts church is back and I pray you update your video after witnessing and experiencing the power of God. I believe God is increasing His power today because the church of old only had Pastors in operation without Apostles, Prophets, Evangelist and Teachers.
@jeorgemarvel4086 Says:
Your assertion on the sign gift is not biblical. "And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;".
@alexanderlopez2025 Says:
I was sick thank God when I accepted Jesus as my Lord and savior. I was not just saved but healed.. as i keep walking in Christianity, I've seen many other beings healed as well. But these people talk about things that dont even know. What a death gospel they have
@briandykeman4056 Says:
I agree with him because when I see.people like Copeland.or hinn put on performances most of us know it's an act a inducing way to get money. I always wonder I'd they're the ones that jesus says depart from me.that wouldn't be good for them .
@ThereWasNoKaboom Says:
Every time a sinner repents, turns to Christ and gets baptized by his own will, we are witnessing a miracle. Only God can open the eyes of the blind. Religion is just man-made repetitive traditions that distract people from the Truth.
@garyh2100 Says:
God desires our faith. Miracles foster unbelief. God's great miracles through Moses filled Egypt with undeniable evidence for the God of Israel (Ex. 9:27). Yet neither the Bible nor history records Egyptian repentance, only good riddance (Ps. 105:38; Ex. 12:35-36; 14:25). Further and more dramatic, consider the effect of those tremendous miracles on Israel. God followed the 10 plagues (Ex. 7:14-12:30) done on behalf of Israel with the parting of the Red Sea (Ex. 14:21-22) and the drowning of the Egyptian army (Ex. 14:26-28). Then daily for 40 years God appeared to the entire nation as a column of smoke by day and a pillar of fire by night (Ex. 13:21-22; Num. 14:14; Neh. 9:12; Ps. 105:39). The Lord kept their clothes from wearing out (Deut. 8:4), produced water out of the Rock (Ex. 17:2-6), fed the people with angels food from heaven (Ex. 16:4-7) and brought meat on demand, literally filling their camp with quail (Num. 11:31-32; Ps. 105:40). Yet with all this, virtually the entire nation rejected God:

of course God still does miracles! …just not where any video cameras happen to be.
@paulk5311 Says:
you are ignorant in regards to the gift of miracles. the whole emptying of hospitals and other such thoughts is nonsense and does not line up with scripture. Jesus himself could not do many miracles in his home town of nazareth due to their unbelief. if you think someone who has been gifted by God can just use it on anybody and everybody then you do not know your bible and do not understand the working of the Holy Spirit. if you think peter or paul could heal anyone they wanted to because they had the gift i suggest you do some research on the subject. this is a flawed argument that have seen the likes of false teachers such as justin peters make in that anyone who has the gift of healing could just go and empty out hospitals if he wanted to. that is nonsense and being ignorant of scripture and of the working of the Holy Spirit.
@Stryper1 Says:
I really do enjoy Frank…he’s a great man of God, but I have to disagree with him on the example of “if healing was still around, hospitals would be emptied…” Well, that’s easily countered with why then did Jesus only heal the man at the healing pool when there were hundreds of sick and infirm people all around??? That’s not a good argument brother Frank…much respects though!!! All gifts are still here for this time.

Could the reason why miracles are more recognised and accepted in other parts of the world Like Africa , be as a result of poorer educational system and health care compared to the west ? 🤔
@MikaChen-gl5gt Says:
The SPIRITUAL mind is all about supernatural reality. We are to LIVE by faith, but what purpose is faith without consequent miracles? Having our guilt removed is definitely miraculous.

Now that makes sense. I went to nepal for 6 months once and seen a bunch of healings etc but i dont see as much here. I prayed for someone once here in the states who wasnt saved and the next day he said WHAT DID YOU DO? I said i didnt do it God did it. So I was confused til now on exactly what was going on.

Miracles do happen. My sister was born with a liver disease that was causing her liver to die from the beginning of her birth. Fast forward two years later. She was able to get the liver. The problem was the doctors were questioning how she was still alive let alone walking around any time recent prior to the surgery. Because when they pulled out the liver, it was already dead (it looked black). She is still alive today and that was 6 years ago. She is 8 now. Jesus is Awesome.
@spiritint Says:
Our Faith is not an enterprise rooted in human logic. it is a reality rooted in the supernatural. The creation world, the revelation of God's truth, the birth of Christ, the resurrection, and the advancement of the Kingdom are all testaments of the supernatural origins and expressions of our faith. Christianity without the supernatural is simply dead religion. Abuse and parodies do not negate the reality of the supernatural in the Christian walk. Oh, dear believer, I implore you to believe!
@timothybullard9612 Says:
Miracles still do exist today. God is still revealing himself to people and God is using people too.
@patman007-f7w Says:
Not everyone can receive healing similar to not everyone can receive salvation - therefore that emptying hospital argument does not hold. It’s like the same way of saying if you minister the Gospel to that place, will 100% of them be saved..
@lyp8942 Says:
The nature of the gift of tongues shows that it was only temporary. Speaking in tongues was one of the “sign gifts.” These gifts were given for only a short period of time. Their purpose was to confirm the Word of God before there was written Scripture. Every occurrence of tongues in the Book of Acts was to authenticate the gospel message. The Old Testament did not need any confirmation by miraculous signs. It was already accepted as the Word of God. However this was not the case with the message of Jesus. The people had to be convinced that it too was a divinely given revelation. This is why we find the miraculous signs that were given. Thus, it is argued that before the message about Jesus had been committed to writing its divine authenticity was accomplished through the miraculous sign gifts. Once the New Testament was written, then the gift was no longer operating since its purpose had been served. The writer to the Hebrews states the word had already been confirmed at the time when he wrote. He wrote.
@ChristianWorshipMusicYITP Says:
John 14:12-14 12 Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. 13 And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it. Jesus said whoever BELIEVES in Him will do the works He has been doing. Aka, healings, casting out demons, raising the dead, prophecy etc. He never limited these signs to just the apostles but to all who believe. Notice how there is not a single verse in the Bible that suggests that the gifts of the spirit have ceased.
@thosewhobelieve122 Says:
A cessationist is just someone who has never experienced a miracle because he is too smart for his own good to ask for a miracle or to expect it. I find it hard to understand how you can be a Christian and not believe in or experience miracles. When God answers our prayers, it’s miracle. As for healing miracles, I’m the recipient of one and wouldn’t be alive today if I wasn’t. God didn’t perform miracles during the time of Jesus and the apostles just so they would write a book about those miracles. How utterly ridiculous! Believing this is limiting the abilities of our gracious God and playing into the hands of the devil. God is the same yesterday, today and forever!
@carlosmattey3135 Says:
There are over 1 billion testimonies of people getting healed in the world. The only problem is that the Christian is like the atheist on this matter....there no amount of evidence that will to convince them. Thats arrogant and foolish.
