I think that a large portion of apostasy in the U.S today is due to untruthful evangelism.
There are some “evangelists” who will preach a gospel that promises a prosperous life.
Such teachings have led to the prosperity gospel and word of faith movement.

The OT not only advocates for slavery, but tells you how you can treat them (beatings), where you can buy them from and how you can pass them onto family members.
Moreover, it advocates sex slaves as spoils of war / genocide.
Oh and no, the NT does not in any way condemn slavery, in fact it says that slaves must obey their earthly masters, and is supposedly quoted as saying that he had come to ensure that ALL the OT laws are obeyed by everyone for all time…

The bible not only permits slavery but allows masters to beat them into submission, so long as they dont die. So Christians participating in slavery is right on the money. They're just doing what the good book says to do.

Most of what he said to me seems like BS. Christians don't advocate slavery, yet the old testament and history say otherwise. To their credit, they did try to get slavery abolished in the Roman Empire days. Should religion be judged by the people who believe it, yes and no. Frank has not read his Bible very closely.
Also there is no way to know that Jesus never did anything wrong or sinful, that is a bald assertion and is suspect given that books that otherwise might have been included in the Bible were dropped if they did not agree with such narratives.
