The part where Barbie says “I am become death, destroyer of the patriarchy.”, was a really powerful moment I thought

I’m actually a misogynist. But this movie was pretty lit.

First off, I loved your take on the video. However, slight correction. You said that there was no villain in this film. I disagree. In this film, every person's villain was their own insecurities. It lines up with the overall messaging of the film, which is that your own insecurities are self-destructive , and the only way to overcome your problems in life is to overcome your own insecurities. For Barbie, she represented the current feminine and had insecurities about her looks and about her overall influence on the world, but in the end realized that she needed to discover herself first before she can be a role model and leader to others. Ken represented the incel population, who feel powerless and like their lives have no meaning without women, causing them to be used, cheated on, and manipulated. Ken had to realize that he doesn't need a woman to be a man, but he does need to respect a woman who isn't interested. Will Farrell represents the insecurities that authority figures have over their children/employees/citizens and how they feel the need to micromanage details, leading up to their children/employees/citizens lashing out at each other in violence, and how the only solution is to allow each group to have their own space to live their own lives. The only healthy answer to the current situations in dating/employment/politics is for each group to recognize their own insecurities and quit projecting them on other people, but rather own up to them and deal with it, which is the overarching theme of the movie. Barbie is easily one of the top 5 movies to come out in the last decade, and I'm a dude who likes survival/thriller movies.

Was Dan Schneider a consultant on the feet shots?
@gigaswardblade7261 Says:
they really did make it seem like all women are toxic with the whole retaking of barbieland
@MusiCatsKing Says:
I saw it quite differently to you. Clearly Farrel (CEO) played the villian in this movie. The first part was a dystopian view of feminazis ruling over men. The second part was the dystopian view of the patriarchy ruling over brainwashed women. And the third part was after they agreed to make their barbieworld egalitarian. 1, There was a telling moment when Barbie having been kicked out by Ken broke down on his lawn and realized what she had been putting him through. This is what led to her change of heart and bring about the egalitarianism. And 2, i can also totally relate to the message near the end when Barbie tells Ken that he needs to find himself, discover who is, before he can be ready for a relationship. (I notice you conveniently left those two points out) I really liked the movie. It's anti-woke, but it's anti-conservative too. It's simply egalitarian.

@CorralSummer Says:
There's literally a line in it where they call patriarchy made up. idk if the writers are dumb or if they knew exactly what they were doing, but it really does seem like there was some message about how it's not easy being a man either. But, maybe that was unintentional.

I liked Barbie dolls as a kid and that was a huge no no for boys. But… (Big But) I really liked sports and video games. Many have said I was rather what is considered “androgynous” in my tastes and interests. Not masc or fem but somehow both and neither…

Im a conservative and i dont know what to think. Its very interesting. You made good points, but i still think the girls destroying their dolls was just harsh and unnecessary..
@thedreaming6446 Says:
18:14 There. Right there. Saw the money and I thought it was a funny little movie. I didn't really take it seriously or look for any sort of deep message. It was a Barbie that lost her Barbieness, then got it back, then decided she really didn't want it anymore. The end. The fact that people are getting this upset over it is just making me laugh.
@truko5039 Says:
You had a pixar lamp attraction! LMAO! lol

tbh, the disney movies are having demakes.
@jaykknight2248 Says:
I LOVED the physical and visual humor in the first part of the movie. It could have stayed in barbie land the whole time and I would have been over the moon. The real world "story" part came out garbled and disconnected. But thank god for the costumes and sets keeping me excited through the rest of the movie....also I loved the chase scene. I wish the conflict had been between the kens, like it looked like was going to happen in the beginning.
@anthonytwohill9726 Says:
Shoe, your hair and wardrobe changes throughout this video were incredible and well done. A very nice touch, given Barbie is the subject here.
@jantukumar Says:
This film is a woke tragedy. Ben Shapiro is no prophet, I don't even like his views tbh. But the way this film has criticised patriarchy like some kind of disease, with showing men like they're absolute idiots who are only fantasized by looks toxic masculinity, is shameful. It's because of patriarchy the women have the right to stand up for their stupid agendas. I'm a very practical guy and let me be very clear to all the feminists like this youtuber here, when chips are down, either because there is a war or a pandemic, people lose humanity and it has been men every time in history who have rescued society in those dire times. I've seen men dying everyday, more than women trying to save lives during the pandemic 2 years earlier. It's the men who sacrifice their life every time a war-like situation arises, be it in Ukraine, Russia, Israel or Iran. Thank God we don't have Barbie type matriarchy here in the real world or we would have been the slaves of what God forsaken evil I don't even want to think about.

Thank you so much for that ending - Naa, it really wasn't that deep. It was a fun movie. I felt the same way - it was cute and I enjoyed it for the however many minutes it lasted.
@LocalLibertarian Says:
Yes, I also liked hot wheels and Dino’s however rather than office lamps, I liked lamps with green lightbulbs. (Each bulb burned out in like 6 months)
@elvenkind6072 Says:
18:05 But, yes, it ACTUALLY is THAT deep. It was the same confuzzling experience I had yesterday, when trying to relax to a silly, 2D non-Angst inducing film. Then it became 5D. Out of nowhere.
@elvenkind6072 Says:
1:01 AWWW cuddling with the lamp. Such a cute ... lamp. 🤔
@elvenkind6072 Says:
I watched Barbie yesterday (psst! They have it on YIFY now, and also Dune Part 2), and I actually loved it. I can't imagine anyone people calling it "woke" have actually watched it. For sure it was celebrating girly girl things and feminine power, but in a funny way, and the whole point seemed to be a struggle between female and male dominance of "Barbie-World", but in the end they figured out they needed each other. So I look forward to hearing from a girl what your experience of the movie was.
@umaninstrumentalityprject2989 Says:
Barbie is a good film because gosling is in it. That is it, i only watched it to see gosling. He drives. I drive. I am him. Cast gosling as batman already
