@nazareneoftheway3936 Says:
I mean I have had a few experiences.
I am grateful for it, BUT...
It is sobering...
And it didn't take a spiritual experience of God for me to believe, though I had negative experiences of the other side, I knew by just the fact such evil existed spiritually that god existed and I sought him with all my soul, my parents raised me well in the truth and It didn't take long as only a child the fact I should be on his side and love him and do whatever he ask of me was evident. So an experience is not needed, but if you had one, you'd know it's not what you think...
Because to be in such a holy presence you'd truly understand just how much you deserve your punishment and you'd realize how hopeless you are without him, and then you'd realize just how awesome Jesus was for his sacrifice, all opinions and philosophies vanish under the judgment of the holy God and his compassion for our souls, the only true God, the uncreated one who sustains everything.
So don't ask for what you probably can't handle to begin with, it isn't something you want to shout about to others, but something you remember in shuddering whispers by yourself with respect and reverence as a reminder to check if you're truly living according to God's ways and trusting fully in his son and doing what he has commanded, being obedient.
It sticks with you in the most humbling way, not some circus sideshow experience.
@scottkunghadrengsen2604 Says:
Gnostics have always functioned within the church. Meister Eckhardt and St. John of the Cross to name afew. Paul himself drew upon his own inner experience of Christ so it is unlikely that belief in scripture was all he was referring to. Especially when he took great lengths to distance himself from the Hebrew teachings and emphasize the experience of Christ.

Nobody in the Bible had a bible… all these denominations and perspectives choosing and picking bible verses. If you believe in Jesus and that he died for your sins you will be saved imposible for any human to do everything perfect like he taught only he was perfect, just like nobody was able to follow the law like the Bible says. Seeking Jesus and wanting to feel a spiritual experience from Him is not a sin or did I miss that verse in the Bible? I do agree on not to glory your self because we did nothing it is God

I would like to hear about the subject when people believe, and hope that God will heal them and only make them well, because they have been sick for years and they are suffering with no help. Even if you believe in Jesus with evidence and understanding, but for years nothing happens and that sick person wants to get well only to be able to live and give back and no one can give back or obey God if he is not healthy.

I think the argument in the video is making a false dichotomy or perhaps mincing words. The Bible uses experiential words to describe the believers life. Taste and see that the Lord is good. Serve the Lord with gladness. Love the Lord your God with all your heart mind soul and strength. The peace of God will guard our minds and hearts. Jesus gives us his peace. We will experience his comfort. We will have the joy of Lord.
I could go on but i won’t. Those were just what hit me giving it 5 seconds of thought.
The Christian life is one of experience. Just knowing and believing the truth doesn’t mean anything. Even the devil believes (James 2:19).
Perhaps where she goes in her full work is good but I think this dichotomy is misleading and reeks of a stoic type of Christianity where love is duty and not heartfelt.
@jjssbb1994 Says:
If being in relationship with Christ is like learning math. Then knowing/learning the bible is like learning the numbers. Supernatural/spiritual experiences are like multiplication/addition. When we don't know the numbers it's ineffective. It can make us aware of God, but we (our free will) need to act to build that relationship with Christ. The only book that teaches you that is the Bible.
@RubberTag Says:
I am not seeking experience due to get more power or something like that. I am doing it to get to feel like I am closer to God, it feels better the closer I am to him and these experiences is filling me.
Maybe it is wrong to do this because I have asked myself what I think the "end goal" is? If I try to fill myself and get these experiences to "feel good" and try to come closer to God, but isn't it kinda selfish? Shouldn't we try to help others to God instead of always trying to get yourself as close to God and experience this?
I think this also comes in when I, relax and "spoil" myself with some snacks or something like that, it is little for the experience and I feel a little selfish about this.
Sorry for bad word connection and such, hope this can be understood enough for someone to maybe leave a comment and help me or pray for me!

Please pray for my friend Kristel! She doesn't know God. Pray that God would open her mind and heart to the truth which is in Jesus Christ and destroy satan's lies and works in her life.
@alexanderjosephross Says:
This is a false dichotomy because God wants us to experience Him spiritually. It’s not “either Jesus or spiritual experiences”; Christianity is a spiritual relationship with God. Repent of sin and put your faith in Christ and you will have spiritual experiences. If you’re not experiencing Jesus spiritually in your Bible reading, something is wrong with that. If you’re not experiencing a spiritual relationship with God, something is wrong. Christianity without experiencing the Spirit of God is unbiblical. The book of Acts clearly shows us that we are supposed to be baptised in the Holy Spirit and fire.

As a young man.......I was very caught up in the emotionalism of "Christianity" at youth groups, concerts, etc........I realized as an adult that living your Christianity that way is the surest way to "backslide" for lack of a better term....... He "prefers obedience over sacrafice." I thank God for the Holy Spirit revealing these things to us.
@mr1spamification Says:
I rather feel that I cannot have real communion with my maker unless it's some sort of spiritual experience, so I do find myself longing for something of that nature. My problem is that I feel *left here* in this hellhole by Jesus, not necessarily saved from it by him. I'm sure when I eventually pass, I'll immediately change my mind because then the fruits of his sacrifice will be available to me; he will quite literally be the one and only way to eternity once I'm dead. As it stands for now though, I don't particularly see how Jesus makes our lives any better or easier or less painful while we sit down here rotting away and waiting for the End Times to inevitably destroy us and our families inside and out; a fate it is made quite clear we will *not* be spared by our Lord.
Nothing short of a spiritual experience could really shake this feeling for me, and that's why I think I long for one, because I'm tired of feeling this way and have no intellectual avenue or argument I've found to peruse that would pull me out of this rut of secret despair, so I just wait on God to pull me out of it instead with little or no effort on my part.
Probably not the right approach, but true for me none-the-less.
@Meshack263 Says:
I had a spiritual encounter once, but I wasn’t looking for it. It just happened. But everything that Jesus said and showed me, could be confirmed with scripture, and that’s how I know it was truly Him. He showed me that this experience was for me alone and not meant for anyone else to understand, but to give power to my testimony so that they would know that I’m telling the truth, and not just what I was told to say by others.
Nothing He said was outside scripture, and the only thing He told me I’m responsible for is living out the truth in my life and sharing the gospel with as many people as I can while I have time here. 🙏🏽❤️

I believe that every time we hear some one speak, whether at church, in a conversation, on the radio, whatever, we should at least mentally keep notes. Then when we are able to get to our Bibles, open it up and see if what that person said is true. If it isn't you can toss it out. If it is true, you are no longer following man but God's Word. So next to those notes write these words, Fact Checked.

If our moral sense/intuition tells us that morality is real, just like our sensory perception tells us our environment is real...
Why do we need God to be the source of morality and not just our moral sense?
You might say Hitler's moral sense told him to kill Jews, however, this assumes he didn't know what he was doing was wrong.
You might say Hitler's moral sense wasn't accurate, however, our sensory perception isn't always accurate. For example, if you put a pencil in a glass of water, the pencil seems to become distorted in position and size (it becomes bigger) when we look through the glass.

To be honest, as a kid that was raised in a christian background and seeing signs and wonders, I too thought that spiritual encounters with God was needed to touch me to follow Him, but till this I never had it. Although I do hope to get some sort of encounter in the future, I am glad that my faith does not depend on it. Today, I still believe and follow Jesus as I believe He is the truly the truth, the way, and the light to life.

I hear about the fear of God alot. I love God and Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior. I dont understand how I should have the fear of God in me also to be a true believer. All I feel is love for everyone and hope that they would understand what so many of us are trying to get across to to them. I tell everyone I meet as to who I know and what I know and then pray that they would understand the message. My fear is not being worthy to be counted as a member of his flock for he is my Shepard. Is that the fear? Can you do a video about the fear of God please. God Bless you all. Peace.

The most important thing in you're life is not that you know Jesus Christ! The most important thing in you're life is that He knows you! Do you have a problem with that statement? Or don't believe me? Read Romans 7:20 to the end of the chapter. Just because i do "Churchy" things dosen't unite me with Christ anymore than Job was united with satan, when God asked satan if he knew who Job was. Just because you know who someone is, doesn't mean you know them. "If you love me, you'll keep my commandments!" If you know of him you'll pretend to be Him.

Spiritual experiences? I don't really understand this video
Could someone help me out?
@hhstark8663 Says:
Yes, Jesus is enough without a spiritual experience, because there is mathematical, philosophical, historical and empirical proofs for god.
The *resurrection* of Jesus Christ has *historical evidence* . The historians who defend the historical resurrection are the former agnostic historians Mike Licona and Gary Habermas. Since the resurrection happened, Christiantiy is true.
I can highly recommend the channels "Testify" and "inspiring philoosphy" and "cold-case christianity with j. warner walalce".
_______________
There are also documented cases of miracles in *peer-reviewed patient journals* . The former atheist scholar Craig Keener documentes them in his 1258 page book "Miracles".
@ClaudiaGarcia-28 Says:
I don’t think it’s fair to ask that question “if you never had a spiritual experience would Jesus be enough?” Being born again is in itself a spiritual experience. We are filled with the Holy Spirit and the Bible itself says we are a NEW creation…that’s not a “normal experience.” That’s for sure spiritual. Also, as we renew our mind daily and read our word, things begin to fall off us and some people can actually feel weight being lifted off and there’s a dramatic change in character. That’s also not “normal” that’s spiritual. That’s why Jesus is also important and the only ONLY ONE who can cause these things to happen. If we’re being honest, without these “supernatural occurrences” what is Jesus then? Just a regular man who died? You can’t separate the born again experience from Jesus. You just cant.
@edmontondivine5841 Says:
This is a really difficult topic. Sometimes... Seeking out an encounter with God doesn't mean he isn't enough or the word of God isn't enough. Infact it is a promise of Jesus himself John 14:21. In a world with the many internet informations on religion, doubts to which religion is actually set out as truth. We should be urged to actually have personal encounters with God! I am not saying that an encounter with God Trump's scripture. But this video really made it out to be selfish. When Jesus promises to reveal himself to us and in Us.

@tomaszciszek3023 Says:
Jesus said to her, “Did I not tell you that if you believed you would see the glory of God?” . Experiences are part of our relationship with Him. Praying, worshiping, reading the bible, serving, etc. All this are spiritual experiences. Why wouldn't we want to experience God if we are truly seeking Him? However, if I do so I can feel better about myself, then I am missing the target. The biggest challenge Christians face now days is: do I seek God because of Him, or do I seek God because of me.
@sierraclark6129 Says:
“If you declare with your mouth “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved” (Romans 10:9). Now is the time to accept Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior. Obey His commands and repent of your sins because Jesus is coming back soon. Tomorrow isn’t promised.

Isnt Faith....believing without seeing? Basically believing without physical proof...without signs. If you NEED a spiritual experience I recommend doing everything you can to go against the Devil. You will experience very quickly how real he is, and just how much you NEED Jesus.
@robmckee5295 Says:
The following scripture has always been concerning to me. Could Jesus be talking about individuals who are relying on their spiritual experiences rather than on Him for salvation?
Matt 7:21-23
Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’
