How can an all-knowing God forget our sins?

????

If God knows everything, how can He forget something? Wouldn't that mean He is not omniscient? Not at all! To understand you'll have to think back to your literature classes and consider the fact that the writers of the Bible used literary elements in their writing. Frank explains this here. Nope. Forgiveness sees that what you thought your brother or sister did to you _in reality_ never occured. Forgiveness sees no betrayal, but sees through appearances, that seem to be real, to what is really true and real. What’s real never changes because it’s the _perfect_ creation of God. What is perfect can not become imperfect, can it? Creation is extension. God extended Himself to create us. We’re as a sunbeam to the sun. Is the sunbeam ever gonna be anything less than light? God creates only the eternal, only the perfect. Sin is impossible. Mistakes are real. Mistakes can be corrected. Sin deserves punishment if it were real. But sin is impossible. Free will means not you can change from light into darkness. A sunbeam cannot leave Its Source and become a god on its own. Me and my Father are one. Sin is the believe in the lie that you can be independent of God. That never happened. You never sinned. The 11th century theologian Anselm Canterbury came up with the idea that Jesus died for God to be able to forgive our sins, with his what is called the satisfaction theory of atonement. This is not biblical, and even if it were, it wouldn’t be loving. Ask yourself not is it biblical, ask yourself is it loving. Clearly even if punishment equals judgement, then heaven would be a place of separation. Judgement causes separation for it can see no thing as one. Oneness can’t see differences because there is only embracement in it, it recognizes itself in everything. Only oneness can see love. Only oneness _is_ love. God is Light and in Him there is no darkness. God created us. Therefore there can be no darkness in us, for that would mean that God creates _unlike_ Himself. The fact that you exist means you had the same heart, the same desire, for love to be extended into creation, into you. You had the desire for yourself to exist. Your original and _only true_ desire is that of love to be extended. You are the extension of God. Free will means you have only one will, and that is for love to be extended. You cannot choose against your will, you can not change your will, you can only choose to _forget_ your will, you can only choose temporary insanity.

How is it possible for an all knowing being to give its creation free will? The bible is a paradox by itself.
@st.christopher1155 Says:
From a scientific or scholarly standpoint, just as God never “explains” to us how he created the universe, or how He raised Christ from the dead with a glorified body, neither does He “explain” how He forgets our sins. It is part of what the scriptures call the mystery of Christ and the mystery of the faith. Maybe the more relevant question is “why did God send Christ to die for your sins, my sins, and indeed the sins of the whole world (past, present, and future)? If you discover the answer to the latter question, you will be well on your way to living the life of abundance that Jesus promised us. ✝️🙏🏼🍞🍷📖😇

These short videos are good at clearing up many of these questions people have about how God accepts the righteousness that Christ adds to the accounts of sinners. As Jesus said - It is finished! The legal word added when an account had been paid in full.
@theoskeptomai2535 Says:
I have never encountered any credible evidence or sound argument that suggests the existence of a god.
@bradenzook6679 Says:
You could also say that when your sins are forgiven they are no longer sins (not that what you did wasn’t sinful but just that the sins you committed are no longer sins in a sense that you don’t have to pay for them), so if they are no longer sins then they are nothing. God “forgets” our sins because they are no longer, meaning there’s nothing to actually remember.
@imabeast7397 Says:
Same way your parent knows your sins but forgives and treats you with love etc.

Peace be with you. It's great to see so many conversing about God's annointed King. Yet, I'm confused by the "...accepting the Lord King into your heart..." business. The Lord God annointed a King over heaven and Earth, over the lands, the seas and all life found therein, so it perplexes me that many who proclaim to know the King, instead, choose the world with its corrupt governments and hypocritical religious institutions. Neither the Lord God nor the Lord King said, "...form religions." Following the throne means you are a disciple, not of any earthly governments or religions, for they are after their own ways, missing the mark in perpetuity. They are of the world and are for the world; therefore, they are in opposition to the Kingdom of the living God. Governments are the modern day Ahab: weak, corrupt, immoral, and self-righteous. All religions are the modern day Jezebel, teaching everything but the word of the Lord God and his annointed. Both, governments and religions, are in open, outright rebellion to the Lord God. And, if the faithful disciple reads and comprehends correctly, the reader will see in scripture that an end to Gentile rule has been prophesied. It's commonly referred to as the great and terrible day of the LORD GOD's wrath. It has always been God versus the world. Everyone gets a choice. Choose which you will serve. Will it be the world with its corrupt governments and hypocritical religious institutions that are about to be destroyed; or, will it be the maker of the heavens, the Earth, the lands, the seas and all life found therein--the one who gifted salvation and a righteous King to the undeserving us? May the spirit of God and the faith of the Lord King be with you amidst these days of trials and tribulations.

cap. in Muslim we if we want our sins to be forgiven we have to work hard to pray to our god if we don't pray for forgiveness our sins in not forgiven and in muslim we can go to hell if we don't pray our god and if we have many sins before we die we will go to hell
@Goinghome2024 Says:
It is the same concept when we remember those who owe us but we forget those who have already paid their debt to us. Everyone who put their faith in Jesus, will have all their sins paid for and removed. Therefore, God will no longer remember our sins after it has been paid and removed.

Doesn't say God will forget our sins. It says He won't remember our sins anymore. There's a difference. He chooses not to remember them.
@IsraelSuperguide Says:
Hi guys, somehow this showed up in my feed. - There is a missing point here. and it is the Hebrew mind. In Hebrew "to remember", is more than intellectual knowledge. But rather is associated with an action... For instance, and God remembered Noah... what God forgot Noah altogether? No! but He took action... So, when He doesn't "remember" our sins, it means He is not taking action against us. That is the difference between the western mentality and an eastern Semitic or Hebrew thought. _ I hope it helps. God bless you all!

How does God not have eyes. Maybe not human eyes but I would argue he has some sort of sight that we don’t understand. Which is why we say that it is metaphorical
@Derek_Baumgartner Says:
Over the course of your life, ever meet someone who 'forgave' you some wrong you did them? As in: they say "Yeah, it's okay" or something after you seek forgiveness, yet they keep bringing it back up? --- Have you ever met someone who forgave you some wrong you did them? They say "Yeah, it's okay" in response to you seeking forgiveness, then you see them soldier on and - even when faced with a painful reminder of what wrong was done to them - bury the past instead and keep to their word? --- Have you ever tried to forgive like the second person, yet feel tempted to act like the first? Hopefully the above may help illuminate this a bit. ----- Thanks for this!

@5BBassist4Christ Says:
I thought this title said, "How can an all knowing God forgive our sins." That is a profound question. If our best friend knew every sin we have committed, or if even our mother knew all the evil we have done, would they be able to forgive us? How could a God who so deeply knows us and everything we've done, -a holy and righteous judge, forgive us our sins? I like the song Known by Tauren Wells, -"I'm fully known and loved by you." Only by incredible depths of love can God fully know us and yet still fully forgive all our evils. This then ties into the Problem of Evil. "How can an all loving God allow so much evil in the world?" Because He is so loving as to not hold us by our evil. It's not that God lacks goodness in His desire to get rid of evil, -but His love compels Him towards unspeakable grace and mercy as to not be willing to get rid of the source of the greatest evil of all, -us.

Hello, which definition of omnipotence is more consistent with Kalam?
@KendalSmithy Says:
Jeremiah 31:34 gives us a good idea of how God can deal with our sins: ‘For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more.’ This is a promise to deliberately not remember the sins of God's people. It's a bit like the backup hard disk containing vast amounts of data which is never ever spun up again. Or maybe a book which is never again opened and read.

@myballsitchsomethingfierce6319 Says:
Once glorified the Saints will be free of sin forever. Jesus's death, burial and resurrection was the doorway to eternal life. Now God sees us like he sees his son sinless and perfect. Meanwhile each day we are conformed to the image of Jessus while alive on this Earth through trials and tribulations.
@CHRISTIANROSA22 Says:
Christianity is a joke. Nowhere in the Tanahk speaks of a Messiah that is God that is 3 in 1, that forgives sins through an acceptance of the messiah or a few simple words. Outrageous.
@troywright359 Says:
He doesn't literally forget. All men will have to give an account on judgement day. That's why 'rewards' can be 'given or lost' for heaven. This doesn't affect salvation. The Lord remembers our sins against us no more. That's not literally having no memory or ability to recall them. Otherwise when we felt familiar guilt, how could we go to Him to find rest? "Ah Lord I still remember those mistakes from my youth" "THEY LITERALLY NEVER HAPPENED." "But I still carry the scars Lord, I can't forget entirely...." "OH. I CAN'T REMEMBER WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT, SO DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT." Lol

Cross Examined has some truth and it is a good to share it but they deny Jesus in the flesh. This is for those Sola Scriptorians who are authorities unto themselves, pretenders, to criticize and say other's beliefs are inferior in belief and use negative labels like cult and Not Christian. We are made in the likeness and image of God, male and female. So God is the God of freewill, love, family, and gender, the Trinity is a description of God as completely other and a being of immateriality. The doctrine of the Trinity sprang from one strong principle rooted in the carnal mind, to find advantage in this fallen world you impose on others for their inferiority, it came from the idea: you as a human being are inferior to me, you must do as I say, because I understand the immaterial mystery of God better than you. This cycle continues to form all the various sects and doctrines of Trinitarian Christianity we have in the present day. The plain truth is simple and makes nobody inferior to each other, God is exalted, transcended, and perfected human, just as the example and revelation of Jesus Christ. Those that overcome the carnal mind and sin through repentance and Christ will inherit the Kingdom of God. Revelation 3: "21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne."
@macumus Says:
He does forget, literally. He is omnipotent and that is in His power, and omnibenevolent, and that is the best thing to do. If you could literally forget every time someone wronged you, would you do it for the ones you loved, who were your family, once they have repented and become people with a brand new heart?
