Putting active faith in the person and work of Jesus is one way to see the world. I accept those who do that , but I also accept those who do it in another way.
@Empty2112 Says:
“Christianity isn’t a philosophy.” False; Christianity is the one True Philosophy. Philosophy is “love of Wisdom” and we know that Wisdom and Word are the same person; namely Jesus Christ. See John 1, Wisdom of Solomon 7, Proverbs 8. “Christianity is not a set of rituals or traditions.” Also false. Christianity is the Tradition of the apostles. Paul specifically commands us to hold on to the Tradition we have received from Him, and we also cannot imagine Christianity without the Eucharist or Baptism or Anointing, so yeah; true Christianity is full of ritual and tradition. Unless you just made it up on the spot. But then it wouldn’t be Christianity. “Christianity doesn’t require intellectual assent to certain propositions.” False. We know what the Gospel is, and you have to believe the Gospel to be saved. That means intellectual assent to things like faith in One God, the divinity of Jesus, that he ascended the cross for us, that he was resurrected from the dead. The fact that you later say that our faith is not a leap, but is based on evidence means that you believe that intellectual assent is necessary. None of this takes away from having an active faith and trust in Jesus. You’re making a really weird false dichotomy.
@michaelanderson4849 Says:
Not based on evidence except for the historical setting. Beside that there's no evidence for any of the miracles, any fulfilled prophecies and most certainly not the resurrection.
@seanou2837 Says:

There's no spirituality in the church anymore. The Kingdom lies within.
@FatBug12 Says:
if you have evidence you don't need faith. if you have faith it means you have no evidence. and faith is not a reliable path to truth.

@kalords5967 Says:
There's no evidence of virgin birth, walked on water, turned water into wine and raised the dead and finally raised himself from the dead. Zero evidence in all of this.

@trinityz5540 Says:

@Gebravsk Says:
Not a single shred of evidence for any god let alone the Christian god it’s all based on faith and it is a traditional ritual
@glennhynes5263 Says:
Amen sister. In Him
@skyeangelofdeath7363 Says:
Actually; all religions are philosophies. And faith is what you need when you don't have evidence.
@stephenwalczak3166 Says:
Where is the evidence? So, it is just blind faith. Christians can even agree, and make up new definitions for their TikTok and YouTube shorts videos.
@karolszymczyk8170 Says:
Wtf?
@mathewabraham602 Says:
Faith without works is dear faith. Our lives are the evidence of what or who we believe in.

@zereimu Says:
The Greek word for Faith is pistis which is used to mean loyalty or assurance in something or someone. There is no usage of the word in any Biblical context or in the Greek language at all to substitute the word for believing in something without evidence. The word, especially how represented in the Bible represents the idea of loyalty and trust in something or someone and is never denoted to mean that which is used as the means to form trust in something or someone. examples: Acts 17:31"he has fixed a day on which he will judge the world in righteousness by a man whom he has appointed; and of this he has given assurance(pistin) to all by raising him from the dead" Pistis isn't that absence of evidence but rather what results from evidence. Because God has given evidence for his resurrection we can therefore have faith or assurance in the promises he has given. 1 Peter 1:6-7"In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials, so that the tested genuineness of your [pistis] -more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire--may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ."Here pistis is contextually used as loyalty to God. The words Faith, Belief and Loyalty are similar you have faith or trust in your bank because you have good evidence that your money will be there, you have faith or trust that most people won't just randomly attack you in the streets because you have good reason to believe that most people are not psychotic or they fear the law. Faith is the result of evidence, not the absence. You have faith in something because you have a reason to, there is no contextual or grammatical indications to ever suggest that faith is belief without evidence. In Christianity God has given reasons to trust him and be loyal to him. In the book of Acts no one ever gives their personal feelings or beliefs as their reason to believe in Jesus, they appeal to the evidence so people place their faith on Christ.Acts 2Peter appeals to the miracles of the tongues before them. Acts 2:14-15Peter appeals to the miracles Christ performed. Acts 2:2:22Peter appeals to the evidence of the resurrection. Acts 2:23-24Peter appeals to the prophecies concerning Him. Acts 2:32Peter appeals to the witnesses available to speak with. Acts 2:25-28Paul in Athens also appeals to the evidence for the resurrection in Acts 17:31 and Acts 13:30-31 with witnesses. In Matthew 9:5-6 Jesus heals a paralyzed man so that they would have evidence and know he is the son of God. In John 14:11 Jesus tells his disciples to have faith in him on the works they have seen themselves. "believe me that I am the father and the Father is in me, or else believe on account of the works themselves. In Exodus 9:14 God warned the pagan pharaoh through Moses that the plagues would be given so that they may know that there is no one like the lord.The Bible constantly affirms to Christians to have faith(trust, belief, loyalty) because of evidence, not through blind faith. So pistis absolutely under no circumstance could mean "belief without evidence" in the Bible. Hosea 4:6"My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge..." Isaiah 1:18"Come now, let us reason together, says the Lord..." 1 Peter 3:15"always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you" Some will still take objection to this and use a passage like Proverbs 3:5 ""Lean Not on Our Own Understanding". However, this is not a passage on evidence nor scientific knowledge, but rather a passage on morality and the will of God. Or maybe even Hebrews 11:1, “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the evidence (or conviction based on evidence, DP) of things not seen.” in the passage, the writer says that faith is the “evidence”/conviction of things not seen. You walk into a room and see muddy prints across the floor. Even though you didn’t see whoever (or whatever) walk across the floor, you have “faith” that this happened. Is it just a “wishful” kind of faith? Not at all, it is faith based upon certain evidence, the muddy prints. Trust is more than just insurance too, you can trust your bank to keep your money safe too(for the most part), you have a reason to trust, not simply because there may be little risk, in fact you also trust that there is little risk because you trust that it can be audited and that the data is discoverable should something happen, you also trust the data will be accurate and you will get justice should something happen.
@cherrymardia9201 Says:
But you don't need faith if you do have the evidence?
@PrincePeterThePumpkinEater Says:
There’s more evidence for Christ than any other historical figure

@brianshoemaker7645 Says:
when did baptism and communion stop being a ritual?
@kevinstreeter6943 Says:
Today's pastors and apologists make it sound like a philosophy.
@Worlddiscovery73 Says:
Yes exactly, Christianity is the end of the old world type religious rituals and superstitious practices. It's a purely faith based and spiritual way of life. You cannot compare Christianity to anything else, because nothing is like Christianity. That's why it's hated so much and attacked, ridiculed, suppressed etc.
@kindredmathematician4290 Says:
What's the evidence?

Please present this evidence already...
