My hubby had a stressed induced heart attack, with abt 15 lbs of happy weight to lose. He was put on a statin & w no family history he’s a diabetic. But he works in a hospital & has the pill mentality. Eats fruit like crazy but it’s the ‘good’ grapes & blueberries. He drinks an Arnold Palmer. But it’s so much sugar. We go to dinner drinks at least three then barely makes it home to use the potty & he has no understanding of the bread & pasta he eats

Why are the levels under 7 (from the blood sugar test) supposedly okay? According to what objective scientific evidence? Once again no one can point to any such solid evidence. They are all told under 7 is safe, like mindless zombies, and parrot that to all their patients. Fact of the matter is insulin resistance is affected by a number of factors. One cannot take an average like "six" that lacks rigorous scientific investigation involving a wide variety of age, balanced genders, genetically related metabolic susceptibilities, and various health maladies and pharmacologic variables and recklessly misinform the entire population that it is "safe" or okay. So to be "safe" someone who is an adult should shoot for about 5 or 5 1/2 because my number is 6 and I've suffered the effects of Insulin resistence for decades without knowing.

I used to get gout. Lower sugar, way more fibre, keeping hydrated, lifting, cutting processed foods has totally got rid of it. Pooing a pound a day is essential. If I drink lots of beer it will come back, offal, meat, etc that are high in purines don't seem to be a problem now. Bourbon never caused it for me. Hydration is so important

I read a paper recently that said Vitamin D Receptors (VDR) are only found in the skin and gut epithelium. So Dr. Perlmutter is wrong when he said most vitamin D receptors are in the brain, to my knowledge little to no VDRs are in the brain.
