You either freeze up and never take a step towards them or you buckle up and get ready for the long journey ahead. Steve Aoki is a musical legend that needs no introduction, but if you follow him he's everywhere, in every genre of music, and in everything doing it all. QUOTES: 'It's not necessarily about the financial success or how many streams it has. It's more about the success to be free, to be fluid, to find things that really move you, and not be attached to the success of what other people think about what you're doing…' [2:50] 'Most people stay in their zone cause it's comfortable and it's safe and that's where success is once you build the success. When you start venturing out you start penetrating those walls and exposing yourself vulnerabilities which could tear your business down…' [8:39] 'It's hard to jump off of something that already works.' [15:40] 'The only way that you're going to change the game or disrupt culture is deliberately.' [45:46] 'As an artist DJing so much, there's no doubt that I am an athlete, at the very least a mental athlete and I train like an athlete.' [55:55] 'The power goes to the anonymous persons out there and the singular people out there instead of these big corporations because these big large companies…' [1:05:43] Follow Steve Aoki: Website: https://steveaoki.com/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/steveaoki Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/steveaoki/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/steveaoki/ Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/steveaoki

Steve is such a cool guy and it's inspiring to see how he works out of his own limits. Despite his past and out shadowing the life of his dad. His work ethic and vision are out of this world.

Tom, I love your channel. However, hearing the heir to the Benihana fortune spout self-help platitudes about “staying hungry” is well below the typical level of informative content to be found on your channel. I was once in a club where Steve happened to be DJ-ing (quite a coincidence since I don’t go to clubs very often since college) and compared to the DJs at the pioneering techno venues of my college days I was unimpressed. I was wondering who he was and why everyone was so excited, and then someone said “well, that’s Steve Aoki!!” I said “who??!!” I guess being told someone is a great DJ is enough to make a crowd believe it. At least it proves Steve’s comment in this video that you first have to have a platform before you can branch out to something else you want to do. Being heir to a >50 million fortune is a pretty good platform to start with. I *truly* hate to be negative, but “I just can’t” with this guy already. He’s everywhere these days and the only reason I can see is being born into money. Maybe helping to deplatform idols who have done nothing to earn their fame before too many folks buy into their BS is something positive for the world. Sorry if the tone in which it is delivered is too negative or aggressive.

Thank you for your efforts Tom. Always some good nuggets on your channel. I would like to see some poor M F's here rather than another millionaire richsplaining narrative. Most of us are after thousands or hundreds. Your channel, respectfully.

I love Tom, but this is not fair. Aoki was born into privilege, from a rich famous dad. Probably had to make a little effort, but cannot be talking about this kind of stuff
