To defend the faith, we need more than faith. Why?

To defend the faith, we need more than faith. Why?

????

There's a famous quote that says, "The Word of God is like a lion. You don't have to defend a lion. All you have to do is let the lion loose, and the lion will defend itself." But is that always the best way to bring others into the Kingdom? In this video, Frank explains why it's important to have reasons independent of the Bible to effectively evangelize in today's culture. ???? ???????????????????????????????????????????? ???????????????????????????????????? ?? *HEBREWS 11‬:‭1‬ ‭KJV‬‬* Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the *EVIDENCE* of things not seen. Your video title doesn't seem to agree with this Scripture.

Romans 12:1-2. 1 Thessalonians 5:23- since when have we concluded that faith is not intellectual. Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, if your not assured in your mind how can you have assurance in your heart? For the mind's conversion often proceeds the heart.

People either recognize Truth or they don't. Speak Truth. If people have ears to hear it, they will. If they don't just cut them loose. That is what Jesus did. He didn't chase after people trying to convince them. The religious leaders saw Him do miracles and they STILL didn't believe Him.

Proving something uncreated, eternal, and invisible from the framework of the created, finite and visible is very difficult, if not impossible, to do. Scientists are certain, and have been certain for a very long time, that gravity exists because of the observable effects of objects falling to the Earth. But to actually observe gravity outside of its influence on matter has yet to happen. Likewise, we haven't been successful in measuring "Spirit" or a transcendent, invisible Creator, but the genius of creation and His influence on reality is there, as well as the forces of evil. The same measure could be applied to the proclaimed "Holy books". We can't prove they're God's word in a measurable way, but we can witness the contents of the events, claims, prophecies, etc.. and come to conclusions on whether or not it's a mere creation of man or God, or perhaps even an influence of demons. At the end of the day, when regarding topics of our existence and what's beyond our ability to observe, a level of faith is required by each individual to come to their conclusions. Nobody was there when the universe was created and even if they were, they wouldn't be able to see whether God initiated that creation or not. And even still, we have no proof of whether or not natural laws are eternal and self operating, or whether God is the one guiding them. After everything I've seen, learned, and experienced in life, my conclusion is that Jesus is Lord of all creation and the very substance of all things. My faith in this conclusion has saved my life to the uttermost, and other beliefs either left me empty, demonically tormented, or seeking fulfillment in things that are temporary and destructive. As long as we're being sincere, we will find the Truth 🙏

In apologetics you always reason from the other party's truth statements. For Islam, you argue from the Qur'an that Islam is false and Christianity is true. For atheism you argue from atheist thinkers and internal reasoning that atheism is incoherent and Christianity is true. From Greek polytheism you argue that Jesus is the God Who is unknown, as Paul did.

The question I’m gonna ask honestly is the one I’ve already asked in some of the previous videos, which I’d like to read from other people: If you would want nothing to do with God whether He exists or not, then may I ask what’s keeping you in the comments seeking evidence when instead you could’ve gone your way? What’s your goal in this?

Does he use the Bible to justify his answer? Or culture and his logic? If the Bible is not his authority in this, then he is acting in rebellion against God with the best of intentions. There are Biblical examples of extraBiblical evidence, but they aren't mentioned here. I fear an apologist's greatest stumblingblock is the Bible and Biblicist Christianity. The sword of the Spirit cuts unbelievers too, does it not?

Does God value pure blind faith more than intellectual reasoning based faith? Loving and trusting Jesus instantly purely off God’s word is far more rare, but far more beautiful, IMO. You don’t need a reason to believe the truth.

Amen - Some will say I don't need apologetics because I believe anyway, but there remain many who don't believe yet and the apologetic argument is for them. We can't just say God will reveal Himself to whomever He wishes - because the great commission made us believers part of the plan to make new disciples of every nation. Also there are examples in scripture of Paul, Peter, etc. making apologetic argument to persuade non-believers.

@axisofbeginning Says:
Some say. The Bible is made up of myths written by goat herders and is just a book. Others say that the dead will never rise; Jesus was just a man. Most claim the Bible is not a collection of scientific papers: what the Genesis narrative tells us of the beginning aligns differently with what science teaches. Until the Wilkinson Microwave Anisotropy Probe (WMAP) data revealed that our Earth and the solar system might be cosmically aligned? Then came the Planck satellite confirming the WMAP data. Could this be evidence that the book of Genesis is based on historical events? Nevertheless, According to cosmologists, one thing is evident: the alignments somehow exist! Moreover, because the data does not fit the Standard Model of Cosmology, scientists dubbed it the Axis of Evil. But, according to Genesis, the alignments would be the Axis of Beginning.

Those 8 reasons, I don't know exactly what they are even though I trust the person (Turek) who has revealed them, we have to admit those reasons were not fully realized to be until this day and age. That just says all the more how much I need to trust in God's Word and carry on in love. Because those reasons to trust in the superiority of the Bible have always been there. Truth is what backs up the reasons. And Truth is timeless. I know Who is timeless: God. God is TRUTH! And as I research the passage and reread it, I leave it to you to discover once and once again. In case anyone finds this helpful or is interested in praying for our Christian ministries/leaders/shepherds/evangelists/apologists like CROSS EXAMINED: 16 prayer points you can pray for them: 1 You can pray that they will always have a good walk with God (that they will not forget their first love), that God will bless their daily private Bible reading and prayer life, and that they will have good sound doctrine. 2 You can pray that they will be full of the Holy Spirit and that God will bless their ministries so that many more people will come to faith in Jesus for God’s glory, and that they will feed God’s sheep and disciple them properly. 3 You can pray that they will be humble, that they will remember how many Christian leaders in the past have fallen, and that they will have a very healthy fear of the Lord. 4 You can pray that God will protect them and the ministry God has given them from: Pride Love of fame Love of money Desire for the approval of people rather than the approval of God Being worried about offending people Compromising God’s Word Sexual temptation Demonic attacks Persecution (from outside the Church and inside the Church) 5 You can pray for their PHYSICAL HEALTH and that God will heal all their health problems. 6 You can pray for their MENTAL HEALTH. Pastors and Christian workers often have stress and battle discouragement and depression. Please God touch them and heal them of all mental and emotional problems and distress. They can also sometimes be hurt by the people they serve or by other Christian leaders - so we can pray that this won’t happen but that if it does that God will heal these wounds and strengthen His servants to forgive each other and that God will restore unity for His Glory. 7 You can pray that God will bless and protect their families. Satan often attacks Christian workers by attacking their loved ones. So you can pray that their family members will all have a good walk with God, have good sound doctrine, that God will protect them all from demonic attacks, that God will also bless and protect their physical and mental health, heal them of all infirmities, and that God will bless all their family relationships so that there is peace and love in their families. You can pray that God especially blesses and protects all areas and parts of their marriages, so that they will not be tempted to look elsewhere. Also please God bless their marriages especially so that they can be a model and example for other Christians. 8 You can pray that God will abundantly bless and protect the finances of the ministries and also the personal finances of God’s servants (especially finances needed for health or medical expenses). You can pray that they always have abundant finances so that they can always do every good work God wants them to do. 9 You can pray that God blesses and protects the relationships between Christian co-workers in ministries - so that no jealousy or strife or bitterness takes root. That they will all have Christian unity and that their focus will be on God getting all the glory and rejoice in any and all work for God. 10 You can pray that God prevents any technical or logistical or legal or any type of problems for their ministry, but if they have any such issues/problems that God will help them resolve/fix and totally solve and remove these problems. 11 If it’s an internet (e.g. YouTube) ministry you can pray that God will help the videos spread on those platforms and get many views and that God will use the videos to bring many people to repentance and faith in Jesus. 12 You can pray that God will help Christian leaders be good shepherds of Jesus’ sheep and continue to feed Jesus’ sheep, and that they will not only convert people, but also disciple new converts so that they can grow and develop and mature in a healthy and supported way. 13 You can pray that God will give them the heart of a servant. 14 You can pray that God gives them wisdom and helps them and powerfully guides them when making all decisions and plans. 15 You can pray that if they make mistakes or sin that God will grant them humility and repentance and restore them. 16 You can pray that more Christians will pray consistently for Christian leaders/pastors/shepherds/workers/ministries. *********************** You could make a list of pastors/ministries you want to support and pray for them regularly. Jesus said: “ when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.” Matthew 6:6

God never said we have to prove to anyone He exists because everyone already knows He exists. Give the gospel, give your testimony and reason from the word of God but save it for those who are actually open to listening. Entertaining the mockery and insults of people who clearly hate God is a waste of time.

New Covenant Whole Gospel: Let us now share the Old Testament Gospel found below with the whole world. On the road to Emmaus He said the Old Testament is about Him. He is the very Word of God in John 1:1, 14. Awaken Church to this truth. Jer 31:31 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: Jer 31:32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by husband unto them, saith the LORD: Jer 31:33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. Jer 31:34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more. Is the most important genealogy in the Bible found in Matthew 1:1 (Gal. 3:16)? Is God's Son the ultimate fulfillment of Israel (John 1:49)? Why has the modern Church done a pitiful job of sharing the Gospel with modern Orthodox Jews? Why would someone tell them they are God's chosen people and then fail to share the Gospel with them? Who is the seed of the woman promised in Genesis 3:15? Who is the "son" in Psalm 2? Who is the "suffering servant" of Isaiah 53? Who would fulfill the New Covenant promised in Jeremiah 31:31-34? Who would fulfill the timeline of Daniel chapter 9 before the second temple was destroyed? Why have we not heard this simple Old Testament Gospel preached on Christian television in the United States on a regular basis? Once a person comes to understand the New Covenant promised to Israel and Judah in Jeremiah 31:31-34, which is found fulfilled by Christ during the first century in Hebrews 8:6-13, and Hebrews 10:16-18, and specifically applied to the Church in 2 Corinthians 3:6-8, and Hebrews 12:22-24, man-made Bible doctrines fall apart. Let us now learn to preach the whole Gospel until He comes back. The King of Israel is risen from the dead! (John 1:49, Acts 2:36) We are not come to Mount Sinai in Hebrews 12:18. We are come instead to the New Covenant church of Mount Zion and the blood in Hebrews 12:22-24. Watch the YouTube videos “The New Covenant” by David Wilkerson, or Bob George, and David H.J. Gay.

"To defend the faith, we need more than faith. " That would be evidence. But so far no evidence has been presented for any of the miracles described in the Bible, and no evidence has been shown for any god.

The Bible was written over a span of fifteen hundred years, by forty different authors, in three languages, on three different continents. And some authors were unaware of what was written before or what came after, forming sixty-six books of a single, God-inspired, integrated message: His perfect plan for Salvation. In addition, God is not removed from human suffering. God's Son was a man. He was punished for our sins, beaten beyond recognition. Humiliated and hung on a tree. Then, he died and was raised to live for our Salvation. No other story or myth can claim that.

Yeah, "I don't know how my car works, I just trust that it does". Terrible analogy. When I'm curious about my vehicle I can find exact reasons why it works the way it does, and there is physical evidence to corroborate the explanations. When I'm curious about the bible I get cop-out answers that boil down to reasons why I shouldn't ask more questions.
